LGS score - Glossy Blue 97B
« on: April 26, 2019, 07:55:28 AM »
Stopped by my LGS on Friday to peruse the used/consignment racks as I do nearly weekly.  This time something caught my eye...a glossy blue gun in the back corner of a lower shelf, nearly hidden.  It was a 97B...but...glossy blue?  No front slide serrations?  What the hell could this be...and a sub $700 tag on consignment?  Wait...and it's unfired?

They were super busy, and I had my daughter with me, so off we went, but I couldn't stop thinking about it.  After some more googling and some reading I had to make an offer.  I didn't even go handle it, I called up there and made an offer and they took it.  I'm now the owner of an UNFIRED (appears to be and PO says so...) CZ97B in factory Glossy Blue finish.  It even had the original cardboard box in great shape, turns out it was sold in 1999 in Virginia, and has all of the paperwork and even the test target.

It's in superb shape and I am glad I got the opportunity to own it.  I almost felt bad with the price, but they knew what they had and priced it according to the book.

Really nice, even at the asking price.  Congratulations on the find.

Holy huge pics batman!  I'll try and fix.

GTCooper - it'll be up for grabs soon unfortunately.  I'd love to keep it but the more I think about it I think I'm going to have to stick to my "no gun in my safe goes unfired" mantra, but this one might be too far gone to fire?  I mean it made it 20 years so far, why not let it remain new?

Dang, that is nice! I'd make an exception and keep it for show 'n tell!

Just can?t do it man!  I wouldn?t be able to look at it knowing I hadn?t shot it.

You should feel badly.  Tell you what, just ship it to me and you'll feel better right away.

Sooo, what's the big deal,, shoot it!  ;) Yes it's an older blued one but not like its some rare 19th Century Colt. :) That's my 2cents worth which really isn't worth much,, LOL Take it out and have fun with it! I guess if ya bought it and can make some extra $$$ on it then that's Ok, but I say go for it!
