Question about a Blued Pre-b 75
« on: May 01, 2019, 04:10:12 PM »
Found this really nice blued CZ75 for sale here in Europe ($300).
Since shooting one at the range a few months ago, I'm in love and really want one.

I would like to know from which period this pistol is, could you experts help me out?
Also, what are the main differences between other models besides trigger guard, no firing block and the retro hammer?

Thanks guys!

Congrats on the nice find. However, your photo is not only blurry but appears to be flopped (reversed)? Can you provide a clearer image and perhaps the first three of your SN. The year (2-digits) of manufacture be found on the oval above the extractor. That looks to be from 86 - 87 although the slide stop is newer than that period. By the way, which country are you from?

Thanks for the reply.  The pistol isn't mine (yet), found it in an online sale (in the Netherlands), so I can't provide more information than this pic.

Do you think they replaced the slide stop or is it the original one?

Agree with Psyop96 - slide stop is not consistent with likely production date of the gun...squared slide stops didn't appear until 1993 (if memory serves).

If I found it in the US for $300 I'd buy it without hesitation  :)

Thanks for your input.

Could it be that the slide stop broke and they installed a newer version or do you think it's original?

Not original - possible the original one was misplaced or swapped due to previous owners preference. Unless you are buying from someone that has owned it since new, I doubt you'll find out...wouldn't stop me from buying it, FWIW.

If it?s a pre-B from the era we think it?s from (based on the combination of the 2-hole safety, more rounded trigger guard and the grips), it would have to be a replacement slide stop. It doesn?t affect anything other than the looks. Blued 86-87 production is not common.

I agree with most of the other folks here, kami. In the states, 300 dollars for an excellent condition Pre B CZ 75 is an absolute steal. You can always pick up a period correct slide stop later on.

Thanks for the advice guys. Guess I'll take a look in person and then decide, read that an original slide stop is pretty hard to come by though.

Overhere the pre-b models aren't that rare, also came across a pre-b version with chipped paint for $160:

Looks like this one also has the wrong slide stop??

A few months ago I was just too late for an average looking pre-b with the short slide (went for $300,-).

Additionally found this yesterday, a new CZ92 for $250: http://www.peterkoster.nl/index.php/producten/render/a4978f7ef92f5d244eaf02bcb0807670d0c59721

Unfortunately, CZ-USA does not ship outside of the 50 states. Last time I checked, that particular slide stop is not carried at the CZUB Prague store.
