P10F Optics shoots low
« on: May 09, 2019, 08:26:32 PM »
Picked up my P10F Optics today and took it to the range.  I love the sights (Orange front + black rear), however it shoots very low at the 7-8 yard range.   The manual says the sights are ?zeroed? in at 15 meters.

I plan on installing a red dot, but I was wonder is anyone else has a similar problem?
My plan is to inquire about a taller rear sight with CZ...

All my other CZs pattern great (non-striker model 75) when I aim for the 6 o?clock sight picture.  This one looks like it is setup more like the Sigs where one has to cover the point of impact with the point of aim.  I like my shots to ?land? on top of my POA so I can see the hits while shooting and make adjustments as needed.

My other thought was installing the medium or large size back strap (came with the Small back strap -reinstalled) and find out if that would change the way my gun points.  Would this make any difference?

My P10S is like a Sig (as opposed to my P01s). Combat hold @ 40ft. I don?t find any issue with precision, but unless you pause, you don?t get to see what you hit between shots.

All of my P01s are a 6 o'clock hold.

Tried Sellier and Belleot in 115 but it shot better groups with the American Eagle in 124gr.
This was all done with the small backstrap that came with the gun and I did not have any tools with me to try the medium or even the large one.  The gun felt much "skinnier" compared to my XDM 9.

Once I rested the gun the groups were very good, but for my IDPA and USPSA shoots, I need to get these sights figured out.

My first impressions are mixed as of now...It looks great, excellent fit and finish; but it points like my P226 and I'm not happy about that.  Will put medium and large backstrap and take it from there.

* tried attaching the targets but I don't see an option to upload the photos

Slowjam, here is a discussion on posting images with Google photos and Imgur. https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=104271.msg808670#msg808670

Here is one of my outings with the c model of the P10. My sights are lined up at the base of the triangle in my homemade targets. https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=103614.msg803133#msg803133 I'm running the medium backstrap.

My P-10 C also shoots low. I just have to compensate with holdover. This has been the case with multiple barrels and two different sets of sights.

The ?low? is consistent though, and seems to consistently just be the difference between the sight height and the barrel height.

Wound up mounting a red dot and it shoots very well.  It must be the grip angle and the trigger I need to get used to.   But with the red dot adjustment I can get it to hit the target where I aim every time.  Looks like the 124 and 147gr ammo patterns better than the 115 stuff....
