fitting a disconnector

 awaiting my parts from CGW for my new shadow 3, i ordered the short disconnector, i am curious if i can some shortcuts when assembling and dissasembling when fitting it, example i plan to leave out the small spring and pc of metal detent that holds the safety up and down, is it possible i can make a slave pin the same diameter of the safety rod to put thru the frame and sear cage for testing. any comments good or bad

It?s possible, I have always just put some lube on the safety shaft and it goes in and out quick enough I never felt the need for a slave pin.  If you twist it when inserting it will usually go right under the sear spring without having to lift it.  Leave the safety detent and spring out as well as the hammer pin retaining pin to speed up removing installing the hammer/disco. The steel the Cajun discos are made is STRONG, makes for a good fit.

Correct, that is the small pin that is dropped in vertically that keeps the hammer retaining pin in place.  I usually instal a race hammer and use the HPIN which you should press into place with a vice.  That pin doesn?t really have anywhere to go once installed so not a big deal to float IMO.
