Any other P10C owners encounters these 2 happenings?
« on: May 20, 2019, 07:03:25 PM »
Day 1 - Brought my newly purchased NIB P10C to range to test it out and run it through its paces. Not more than 100 rounds, the factory captured recoil spring's screw started to become loose! Shocked me with that one as a disappointment.  Went home that night and tightened with the included Allen wrench to give it another try the next day.

Day 2 - Same exact thing happened under 100 rounds! Now I'm getting really disappointed with the QA. So at home, I take it apart, wiped down the recoil spring and added in some blue loctite and gave it 3 days to settle in.

Third range trip - No more loosening of screw from the recoil spring after about 100 rounds..Yay! or so I thought, a little something caught my eye towards the back of the slide, it turns out that the roll pin creep ed its way out and I couldn't get it back in. Had someone from the range/LGS take a look at it for me to see if they could set it back into place for me properly. Luckily he was able to, but at the cost of a couple of dings to the frame and said that for some reason, the roll pin didn't align with the 'lock block' which is why it would go back in smoothly. My question is why would it have even creep ed out in the first place???

Overall, while I love everything about this gun, the QA to me(hopefully only for this model/instance only), is extremely disappointing. I have owned CZ's and still do for 20+ years and intend to continue to do so.

I will try and follow up with a fourth session to see how things goes. In the event, that this roll pin creeps out again. What can I do to rectify this annoyance?  I really want to keep the gun.

Thanks.

I?ve had My FDE P10C since January about 1000 rounds through no issues at all.
Mine has a test fire date of August 2018

Why didn?t you reach out to CZ? For any fixes. It?s under warranty.

I don't know what a "Lock Block" is, so looking at your manual, which pin came out? front or rear #31, #32 or #35

OK  - Just got back from the range and it happened again. It started to creep out on the 20th round and I was able to push it back in. Repeated this process after another 20 rounds or so. It is the 2nd last pin from the backstrap. The idiot marks is on top of it and to the left of it. The pin creeping out was much further out the first time since I didn't notice it.

I had the same issue. I had one of the original/first gen P10c guns. The roll pin behind the slide lock/release lever would walk out. I sent it in to CZ and they eventually replaced the gun with a new one. I?m guessing the hole was out of spec, hence replacing the gun and not just the pin. I shot the new one once and the pin seemed to stay put. However, due to other issues P10c guns were having, I lost confidence in the gun and moved on to other guns.

Is yours one of the new US made guns? I?d like to try one, but I?m worried the QC still isn?t there...?

How do I tell if the gun is one of the newer ones made in the US? I just picked up brand new a couple of months back and let it sit in the safe till the first session. It sounds like CZ tried to the right thing by replacing your gun entirely. Luckily all the other CZ's  that I have have no issues nor are my other polymer's.

I?m not sure how to tell the difference between US and Czech made guns. The new optics ready ones are made in the states. The newer updated P10s have a notch in the slide plate... but that?s about as far as my expertise goes. My customer service experience with Cz was great and they handled the issue really well. I hope they can iron out any remaining issues.

For what it's worth I have an FDE p10C with the updated striker anti rotation cut and I've got somewhere around 5000 rounds in it. It's been great save for some me-caused issues as far as reliability goes. I threw in a CGW striker and polished the mag release parts myself and so far the thing is excellent. It sounds like you have a gun that was made late on a Friday  ;D Good luck getting it resolved!

To tell if it's a first gen look at the back of the slide - if there is a small square cut right next to the plastic slide plate, it's never. Next, to check if it is US made, just look at the slide/barrel. The Czech made has the serial, manufacture year and proof mark on the slide, plus a serial number on the barrel. My US made P-10S has only the caliber marking on the barrel, and the slide is blank.
Please let us know what happens next!

Can?t you tell just by looking at the frame to see where it was made?  I think it either says Made in Czech Republic or Kansas City right?

Plus, the ones made in Kansas City usually usually have BBQ rib sauce on them.   ;D
