Polymer compact musings
« on: May 26, 2019, 03:55:12 PM »
I'm looking at getting a P-07. I have all the factory compact CZ's except a P-01, Compact L, and a Shadowline. The only reason I'm hesitant is that the parts aren't compatible with my other pistols. We have the SP-01 Phantom, but I'm doubtful there will ever be a P-01 Phantom. I'd buy it in a heartbeat though. Is the weight difference too small to justify making them?

I love my P-07, it?s good enough in my opinion that interchangeability isn?t important at all. It doesn?t match up with anything else in my safe and I?m absolutely enamored with it. Just buy it and enjoy it. The P-07 is a fine pistol. So far it has converted everyone that I have let shoot it.

I lived in CA and drooled about the P-07 after handling one at a store in AZ.  When I moved to Kansas a P-07 was one of the first 5 hand guns I bought.  I have not looked back on that purchase for an instant.  The P-07 is in my opinion one of the best all around hand guns that CZ puts out.  I have ten CZ hand guns of various models and the P-07 will be one of the last ones to go down the road.

The P07 is great.  Accurate, reliable, durable. Buy IN PERSON. The trigger WILL vary from excellent to awful. The P series single bar trigger is a different animal.

I wondered about that, too.  Would it result in twisting/torqueing, drag, affect the trigger pull, etc.  Then I bought that big Tactical Sport with the 1&3/4 lb. trigger pull and when I took it apart and saw it had a single side trigger bar, too.

And yes, the P07 is a heck of a pistol.  My first CZ and it led to the P09, which led to...?.too many to list.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

After a few break-ins locally, I sought to add a pistol to the home defense system, just in case the 12 gauge was out of reach. After a lot of reading and research, The P07 sat relatively high on the initial list, along with a P30, and SP2022, and  FNX9. I had trouble finding a rental on the P07, and decided to wait until I had shot one though.
Travelled the 150 miles to the closest range with a P07 and P09 for rent and I had no problem reaching my decision halfway through the 1st magazine in the P07. The P09 was nice, and a tad more accurate for me, but The 07 felt more naturally balanced in my hand. Bought one !
A year later, the Wife saw the P07 in ODG. ABRACADABRA !  TWINS !  Even though I encouraged her to try other pistols, she adamantly defended her decision. Since she consistently outshoots me at the range, who am I to argue !  LOL
Gotta admit, the HK P30 was a good contender.
"Let there be light"  and there was muzzle flash !
