« on: June 11, 2019, 05:27:31 PM »

Not how it left  the factory in 1986 - looks as if it was a two tone re-finish (polished chrome frame & satin nickel slide). Note - the rear sight and hammer have the same finish as the slide.

Trigger is nickel as well but its wearing . im pretty sure it was a recent import but havent heard back from importer. Google search shows some chrome cz that were sold as police guns from africa. The few i saw were chrome with black controls or black slide and controls with chrome frame

Saw that one.  If the frame is not done right - that would be a no go.  HARD to undo a chrome finish.

how it happened was someeone spent more than I thought a massada was worth and talked myself into having a gun that day. that one ended a few hours after the massada. I'll know in a day or two how the finish is. If not good off to ford's guns for refinish. Tho im hoping thats not the case. After talking with the importer im sure we could work something out as well if it is the case.

If that's the one I saw on GB this week, the slide has a different s/n than the frame. Slide and controls look nickel plated to me. I've de-plated nickel, it's not for the faint of heart. Chrome is a different story altogether and needs to be left to the professionals.

Maybe I was thinking of a different gun, that's what happens when I constantly shop for old guns to buy.  ;D
Glad I was mistaken.

I like the finish on the slide.

Not so enthusiastic about the frame though.

The whole pistol, done like the slide, would look really good.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Not quite sure what im going to do with it. I have blued pre b and ive never had a pimp gun before. I might go with extremely gaudi by adding some nickel grips or go rose gold grips. Need to see it in person

What?s not to love about a surplus pre-B? . Yes, there?s always a chance you?ll want (perhaps ?need?) to put some more money into one but they can turn out nicely. Hope it all works out for you. The seller has a good reputation.
Nice to hear the usual suspects chime in.

For me, the ramp sights generally tend to shoot low. I put some yellow Testors paint on the ramp and use a black marker to slowly adjust the alignment point. Will look forward to hearing and seeing what you do with that specimen.

my nickel, notice the sights are not so it's not just a nickel upper on a polished frame.
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?
