What restricts them to 10 round mags, the follower?

I will take a good look at one for ya guys! I shot today and didn't think to look but will. I don't think there is a notch in them! Heck, I got 20 of them, ;D really, so I'll dissect one and find out. Like I say for $21 bucks with FREE shipping even if you use them for range mags or if you shoot IDPA they will be perfect for that, save your reg/high cap mags for carrying and other more important things!

I believe the 10 rounders have a dimple in the sides of the mag that only allow the follower to move to that point. Carefully drill the dimples out and they should hold full capacity. I have several 10 rounders for my Sig 229's that were that way and I drilled the dimples and they now hold 15 rounds no problem.

I think I see it on the 75 mags. They have an elongated depression, about in the middle on the 10 round, and at the bottom for the 14 and 16 round mags, with the 14 round having a longer one ending higher. The Mec-Gar 18 round has no depression. If it's the same, that would be too large to drill out, so hopefully the P07 mags are different.

The standard 75 series 10 rounders do have a different depression to restrict the capacity.

Yep that's it. Carefully drill out those dimples and smooth away any burrs and they will then hold full capacity.

My kind of thinking.

BTW:  NICE FDE P07.

I have enough magazines, but now this thread has me wanting to order some cheap 10-round mags and drill them out.  I ran across one of the old 16-round P-07 magazines in a LGS today, new in the package, but they were asking like $45 for it.

Those of us who lived through the Clinton ban have a special twitch that makes us buy 'too many' standard mags.  Like a dog that's been beat.  Never again.

Does anyone have the SKU numbers for the deairable, old magazines and the number for the new, don't-fit-quite-right mags?

Not sure on the numbers as I searched high and low and couldn't find a single original P-07 mag anyplace. The new P-07/P10C mags are easily identified by the red follower though.

I’ll be drilling some out soon enough. Any hints or techniques to share?

I use a high quality bit in a drill press. Go slow so as not to compress the mag body and distort it. Finish by filing/sanding off and burrs.

I would suppose you use a bit almost as wide as the dimple and for this one do in a line the length of the dimple?  Thanks.

I start with a pilot hole about half the size of the dimple and finish with one that removes it fully but it can be done either way.
