527 Carbine 223, best NEGC front sight or sight height?
« on: November 29, 2019, 01:47:00 PM »
Anyone using a New England Gun Company receiver sight/front sight combination on their 527 Carbine?  I've got their receiver sight on mine.  I've tried several different loads and the CZ factory front sight doesn't work that well with it.  NEGC has several front sight options with different heights.  Anyone using one and how well does it work?

I have the NECG brass post on a 527M 7.62X39mm but use it with the factory rear sight. I still haven't filed it to height as I haven't settled on a load for the rifle. It's still to tall.  I had to file the half moon where the CZ front sight plunger fits. With peeps I tend to prefer a bead front. When I built a 7X57 I knew I was going to use an old steel Lyman rear and use the NECG banded front with the cropping bead (silver bead with an ivory flip up). It worked out well.
