Metal tab insert on upper receiver *Carbine*
« on: July 02, 2019, 04:33:04 PM »
I've got a Scorpion Carbine and have noticed a little metal tab affixed to the square shaped polymer piece on my upper receiver.  What's the purpose for it?  I just picked up a Micro and it doesn't have the metal tab affixed (it just a square).  I've searched and can't seem to see where this has been discussed.  I would attach a pic, but I do not subscribe to any photo hosting services since Photobucket went to $h*t.

It's a denial block so you cant put the full auto A1 bolt in it.

Thanks, curious why the S2 doesn't have it?

Depending on age of your carbine it may look different than the one in the Micro.

Is it common for the bolt carrier to slightly peen the corner of this denial tab?  I've noticed both my carbine and now my Micro S2 doing it.  Just learning the platform, here.

It's normal.
