A Day at the Range 97BE
« on: July 12, 2019, 12:56:17 PM »
What a beautiful mid-July day to be at the outdoor range!

1st shots to warm up.

Everything went wrong with that 2nd string.

Switched to the pistol with the Barsto threaded barrel.  Much wider grouping.

Tightened up the 2nd group some.

Switched back to the 1st pistol.  A few flyers but much tighter groupings.

Let's try the Barsto barrel under a more realistic home defence scenario using the same ammo it would be shooting.  Federal 230 gr HST +P.  Now, there's some much more rewarding groups!

I shot a total of 15 more rounds at a very fast pace and had two HST's jam up on the feed ramp.  A smack to the back of the slide fixed it, but I didn't like to experience that failure.  It had no problems at all with the SWC's.

Thanks for sharing!  Results look like mine, except mine is at 7 yards, LOL  ;D

Do you prefer the stock or the threaded barrel?  It seems that the stock barrel would work better being an "E" conversion.

First off, the stock CZ barrel has been an accurate, proven winner for quite a while (look at Joe L's videos).  Tight groups at close range all the way out to 25 yds, and even farther.  My experience is the Barsto groups really well at close range.  Today, the very first time I've shot it that far, not as well as the stock barrel at 25 yds (I did have more flyers than usual today with both pistols). The Barsto is brand new and I need to shoot it alot more and see how it breaks in.  My plan is to put a suppressor on it for home defense.
