P07 with a cadet kit range report
« on: July 18, 2019, 06:10:15 PM »
Not going to go on and on about how much i love the P07 i bought a month ago, but the P09 i bought three weeks ago, and the cadet kit I bought last week should give an indication. Plus i have three non CZ pistols for sale too as a result.

I was trying to find info on the cadet kit and it’s reliability.  Especially with the cgw 18# spring.

Went to the  range today with it.  It ate freaking everything i feed it.  Even the ammo i could only get my rifles to shoot.  I had 2 other 22s and the ammo they were to finicky for, it ate that too.  No issues what so ever.  Accurate too.

The newer cadet kit for the p07 comes with three recoil springs .  I assume to run on weaker or stronger loads.  I started with the medium spring.  The other pistols were having fte on some ammo, the cz chewed it down with pleasure. Never had to change springs.

Outstanding.   Just wanted to share if anyone is on the fence as to how well the cadet works on the p07.  Some youtube reviews are older and aren’t that favorable.

My experience is the same as yours.  I have a P-07 Kadet, a P-09 Kadet, a Shadow 2 Kadet, a SP01 Kadet and a Kadet II.  All function as well or better than my Buckmark or any of my friends 22 pistols.  There was some stiffness in the beginning with the S2 Kadet, but that went away.  All in all, they are a very solid acquisition that I don't regret.

This is what it would look like.  I've not shot this configuration, but the trigger works and the slide will hold open with an empty magazine.

Kinda looks like a P-07 long slide ;)

^^^^ LIKE!!

The .22 kit on my P-07 works fantastic. I've been shooting the cheap Thunderbolt ammo and haven't had an issue in a couple hundred rounds. I hate the sights tho. I just ordered a fiber optic front site from Amazon, hope It'll fit without too much trouble. It's replacing the 0.144" or #1 sight on there now. I think this one has a deeper dovetail?

As accurate as the Buckmark???  Thanks.

The Kadets are equal or slightly better depending on the ammo.

I just installed the HiViz CZLWO1 sight on my .22 slide (born 2018).
The Amazon ad says "Fits CZ75, 85, 97, P-01 and 83 models except Kadet, Champion and Standard IPSC models"
I did sand the base on 220 grit until the sight would slide 1/2 way in, then tapped it the rest of the way in. I only removed 3 to 4 thou off the base
Installed height is 0.163", about the same as the original #3 luminescent sight (0.165") on my 9mm slide.
I put this on my .22 slide to replace the original #1 sight (0.144" hi). I was previously hitting high, this sight puts my hits on center.
BTW, still have the black rear sight. The matching CZLW11 rear looks much too low for the .22 slide. Need one about 0.100" higher.

I like the look of that 09 slide on the 07. Would make things easier just having one slide work for both frames instead of needing two kits.

THANK you sir for this thread.  Answers many questions I've had with no data for some time.
