Magpul MBUS sights now standard on Scorpion

Hello everyone,

This is my first post but I feel I learned something that might be useful to the community after my first CZ Scorpion purchased. On July 2nd I purchased a Scorpion EVO 3 Carbine and after opening the box I discovered that it was shipped with Magpul MBUS sights instead of the low-profile metal sights that they are accustom to coming with. Thinking is was a mistake I called CZ-USA and spoke with a representative and was informed that all Scorpions are going to start being shipped with Magpul MBUS sights. Thought is was strange, couldn't find any information online regarding the change so I thought I would post this. Hopefully it is useful information to the CZ Forum community. Other then the sights, I am really looking forward to my new purchase!

read an article that said the Carbine edition will be set up with magpul sights and furniture.

One of the first things I did when I got my scorpion 2 years ago was swap out the sights for MBUS, you do not need to push your head down so far on the gun, and is far easier when you are wearing eye and earpro

That’s what the CZ rep said. He said the MBUS sights are more readily available and they co witness better with red dots or holos. I have experience with MBUS sights on other firearms so guess it will be an easy transition!

Yeah to be honest I was a little disappointed with CZ. Their low profile sights are SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive if I were to try and buy them at the CZ store. I also heard nothing but good things about them. I don’t necessarily have a problem with the MBUS sights, but they are much much cheaper (around $60 depending on what sale is going on) yet I’m paying the same price for the firearm. Oh well, sometimes your the windshield, sometimes you’re the bug.

I never had a problem with the old style irons.

I tried magpul sights and the height over bore just didn't work out well.

Agreed and standard plastic Mbus sights suck.  The Mbus Pros are better if you like flip up sights.

The factory CZ low pros are a much higher quality than magfool....I mean magpul....LMAO

I picked up my new cz sorpion from my dealer and it also had MBUS sights on it. And the CZ USA web sight still displays the old sights on the Scorpions. This isn't right. MBUS sights are $50.00 cheaper. I have e-mailed CZ and asked for the advertised sights. MBUS sights may be ok but switching to a cheaper product isn't.

Agreed and standard plastic Mbus sights suck.  The Mbus Pros are better if you like flip up sights.

The factory CZ low pros are a much higher quality than magfool....I mean magpul....LMAO

I think the difference is more material than quality.  While the magpie mbuis aren't metal, that's their advantage, when dropped they don't bend (low pro CZ probably won't bend either).  I hated the low CZ OEM sights and bought the LPA's which also were too low.  I switched to the magpie mbuis and they are the right height for a proper cheek weld and sight alignment for me.  I have them on 5 AR's and 3 other semi rifles.  I've dropped them in the mud on rocks and the sights are unfazed.  Was in a class where almost half the participant had bent metal sights.

Maybe CZ should ship them out with magpul pro irons to call it even.

They are what they are cheaply marketed as most magpul products are to fill a gap. I have several magpul MBUS and have been replacing them with Pros or other tougher alternatives.   If you like them good for you.

I just purchased a new Scorpion Evo 3 S1 in FDE and it came with stock cs iron sights...

I really didn’t like the stock irons and ended up putting MBUS sights on mine. I don’t particularly like them either but they are back ups and they cowitness with my red dot.

With the factory stock they were to high but with the Zhukov they are perfect.
