My first Colt revolver
« on: August 07, 2019, 08:40:07 PM »
Last weekend, I brought this little guy home.  It’s a 1965 Colt Cobra Agent.  It spent at least 2 decades of it’s life serving an Indianapolis policeman as his backup gun in an ankle holster.  There is a very distinct wear pattern on it from that holster but that’s part of the patina that I love on this one.  It’s served and it served well.  It will have a long term home in my family and will get an occasional range trip with some soft 38 Special reloads.

Nice find and a great story behind it .
it would be pretty neat if you could meet the officer that carried it for so long.
How much did you pick that up for if you don't mind me asking?

I wish I could have met the officer but it was sold by his estate.  He was a retiree that passed away this spring.  I paid $499 for it, which is probably on the high side considering the amount of wear but I’m happy with the purchase.

I think that price is just about right. Nice piece , love the history.
Edit : I looked on a couple of auction sites and you got it for a really good price. Most of them are selling $599 and up.
