We use SimpliSafe.  24/7 monitoring.  Its reasonable. It’s simple. You have all of the common options. Motion, class breakage, doors, panic, water, smoke, heat, windows, camera, etc.  It’s amazing.

I just upgraded my old SimpliSafe system to the new SS3 sys. from SimpliSafe. Old sys. worked great for 5 or 6 years but was have trouble staying connected to the cell towers changing since they are changing over to the new G5 signals. New sys. has a lot of improvements over the old sys.. No problems so far and its very easy to install. There are no contracts  and you can chose if you want to use the monitoring plan which is about $15.00 a month.

I use some basic wifi cameras from Zmodo. I can watch with their app on my android or IPad from where ever I'm at if I have cell coverage for free. Has selective zone coverage, alerts, night vision  and 2-way sound coverage. For a monthly fee you can record to their server or you can record video or pictures to your device if you see something. I cover the house, garage and yards.

We use SimpliSafe too! Have sensors in every window and door in the house and in the odd chance the thieves decide to drill a hole on the wall I have 3 motion sensors to get them.

Just curious, what year did you get your system? I got mine in 2017 and haven’t gotten any promotion offer on upgrading.

2018. My guess is that the system mlw270 had predated the base that you and I have.  The old one plugged into an outlet and it was about the size of a nightlight.  There is no upgrade to the one that you and I have.

We have the doors (4) covered, motion (3), glass (4) breakage, water, heat and fire configured.  It’s a great product.  You can control your system remotely.

SimpliSafe.com

The entry sensors are $15 apiece
Motion Sensors $30
Etc

I think I got a 20% off discount when I ordered and it was about $400 ish for me. I went a little overboard with 17 entry sensors and 3 motion sensors, 2 keypad, and 2 key chains.

$15 monthly for basic 24/7 monitoring, $25 if you want to use the app on your phone to arm and disarm the system, plus configure your settings online.

Interested in the SimpliSafe system for my cabin (is in range of a cell tower).

Q=  How long do the sensors last before battery changes are required?  Will assume they use lithium type.

Multiple levels are your best bet.

My security:
Keep trees and shrubs away from windows.
Motion activated lights.
Well lit areas around house
Alarm system
Cameras
80lb Doberman

I don’t open my windows much at all, but the sensors on my doors have lasted 3 years now and I should probably replace them soon.

They are not lithium batteries but rather B type batteries.

I went with FrontPoint years ago, which I believe is similar to SimpliSafe, and I had connection issues.  I'm leaning toward a hardwired system with cell backup. Maybe ADT?
