In search of the most comfy, slightly thinner, grippy grips
« on: September 13, 2019, 10:05:25 AM »
I really like the way this PCR fits, except for the grip circumference. I have medium hands but short stubby fingers and the DA trigger reach is just a bit long. That, and the rubber grabs my shirt. So, I'm looking for some replacement grips that are as comfy, provide good grip, while being thinner and less "grabby" than the stock rubber ones.

I like the look and solid feel of aluminum, but I'm concerned about heat transfer. I've had G10 on all my Sigs and really like that material, so G10 sounds like a better option all around.

I kinda like the palm swell on the rubber grips, although they're a bit large for me. I'd entertain G10's with palm swells if the swells are smaller.

So I'm set on G10, but the question is, VZ or Lok? Palm swell, or no palm swell? Are there different degrees of palm swells? So many choices!

LOK, hands down.

The palm swell options mimic the OEM rubber palm swell grips. I like them and have them on my SP-01, but if you are looking to reduce the grip circumference, then you should look at their thin grip offerings.

I picked up a used set of Cool Hands from a forum member, very inexpensive, just to try out before spending considerably more on a new set.  I'm satisfied: like the fit and does help with the trigger reach.

I also I would like the palm swells if there was an intermediate thickness available.

Thanks! I just looked at the VZ and Lok offerings, then read some reviews on both, and went ahead and ordered a set of thin G10 Lok grips.

Can't go wrong with LOK they are great quality and if you ever need CS they are an example of what every company should be.

If you don't want the thin profile that makes the gun feel rectangular, then try the standard profile LOK's.  They have a slightly thicker profile than the thin grip but they allow the corners to be round.  I bet if you contact LOK they will make a thin grip with palm swell.  I think they will custom make whatever you want.  Nothing quite feels like the OEM palm swell but the lack of grip is what forced me to change.

If you have stubby fingers you should look into the reach reduction kit from CGW.  It will probably cure all your reach woe's.

Cheers,
Toby

Great suggestion on the reach reduction kit, thanks.

Does anyone actually carry the PCR with the stock rubber grips? If so, how do you deal with them rubbing on and grabbing your shirt?

CGW G10 grips. I have small, wide hands and these transformed the feel of my Compact. Best 35.99 spent.

I've been carrying a P-01 and PCR with stock grips for quite a while and have never noticed them rubbing or grabbing my shirt.

I've been carrying a P-01 and PCR with stock grips for quite a while and have never noticed them rubbing or grabbing my shirt.

Shirt material might have something to do with it, or maybe the cheap holster I'm using. Anyway, I ordered a better IWB holster, maybe that will keep it in a position that will minimize this. We'll see.

After shooting it today, I am really digging the ergonomics, even with the rather chunky rubber grips. This thing is the quintessential tack driver, probably the best semi-auto I have ever owned to date. The trigger reach in DA is a bit long, so perhaps the reach reduction kit is what I need instead of the thinner grips.

But man, this is instantly my favorite gun. My first CZ, and certainly won't be my last. I'm hooked.

Large hands here and to my surprise I really love the Matrix grips from LOK! They are thin and perfect for CCW.

Email LOK grips and let him know what you’re after. He can custom make you one that will give you the most grippy and fitting grip for your hands.

I just received my LOK thin Bogies grips and installed them. Very aggressive, but look and feel great. Also had TruGlo TFX Pro sights installed. Now I'm just waiting for the opportunity to try them out.
