I had this same issue tonight after installing the HBI trigger. I would get a few resets, then a dead trigger. Checked many of the suggestions above and still no luck. Then I found MY issue. My slide lock spring had popped off the slide lock bar (probably incorrect terminology) during reinstallation. Stuck my finger in the ejection port, popped it back in place and no issues since. May be worth checking out!
