New to CZ 75 SP-01 TACICAL
« on: September 15, 2019, 08:11:01 PM »
Well I got my SP01 out to the range twice so far and have done about 200 rounds. It is great to shoot. I have been reading the forum and I wanted to say thanks for the tips from dry firing ( oring and snap caps)  to breaking it in.

Congrats. I’m very happy with mine and will be sending it to CGW when they call for the pro package.

Have a P01 Omega and a PCR upgraded by them and am eagerly awaiting the finished product when my SP01T receives their talented work.

Glad you are enjoying it. The SP-01 Tac was my first CZ ever and I love it. Nothing shoots like it! It is an amazing handgun!

This was my first range trip with it and I smiled the entire time:

I really need to get my SP01s out more.  My 9mm SP01 is fully Cajunized and is an amazing shooter.  The .40 SP01 is still completely stock but is pretty darn good regardless.  Enough so that I’m not sure I’ll do anything to that one.

Both of them soak up recoil and are really nice, soft shooters that make me look better than I really am.

What was the distance for your target?

Looks like 5-7 yds is what's written on the target.

That is some good shooting.

I purchased a used SP-01 Tactical (made in 2016) today that appears be have relatively low mileage.  I did notice a little rust -- not pitting, just a thin layer of red/brown oxidation in some areas that rubbed off onto a cloth.   There was also some copper streaking on the lands, but that disappeared fairly easily with Hoppe's #9 Copper Cleaner.  The pistol got a good cleaning and oiling, although I'm wondering why some people let their guns go...

Although I read a post somewhere today that pointed out that gun owners do more damage to their guns while cleaning them than they do while shooting them.  Not sure it is a true statement, but I can imagine cases where it would apply.

Anxious to see how it shoots.  Ordered a set of LOK grips (same as on my CZ-75 BD) for it, too.  This is my third CZ!

Update:  LOK grips installed - great fit.  Fired 150 rounds with it today, and the accuracy is there.

Where did you find an all black threaded tactical?  I would like one like that.  Not a fan of the UG color.

Came from KYgunco a few years ago. You could get black, UG, or olive green at that time.

The factory tritium raised set. I use my suppressor to adjust POI by pulling out on it and rotating it on the booster. Very effective way to dial it in.

Hmm, I thought you had some kind of adjustables. That's ingenious. I'm no fan of tritium in basic shooting, but can't find exactly what I want in fiber optic. If Proctor's Y sights were available for CZ I might go that route.

Congrats on the new pistol, glad you are happy with it. I bought one a couple of weeks ago and was finally able to shoot it this past weekend. Love it. I loaded up some 124 grain Berry's using AA#7 and Unique. It was really happy with the AA#7 offering, Unique not so much.  I installed the Cajun Pro Package de-cocker version, well worth the expense.  Its a keeper.
