P-10c recoil spring assembly wear

This is the wear after about 500 rounds.  Half stock, half with new barrel and slide. Is this normal?

With the slide cuts and lightening you've had done it will cycle back much faster. Guide rod will take more of a beating. switch to a steel guide rod if you wish as they can take a lot more velocity

Those gouges are more than likely made if you "snap" the guide rod into position while reassembling the upper.  When fully assembled, the guide rod is resting against a bridge in the frame. 



The barrel lugs are secured behind the takedown lever and aren't actually in contact with the guide rod.  Assembled, there's actually very little force on the guide rod itself, just the spring pressing flat into the base and some lateral pressure as the springs try to kink during cycling.  As far as the slide velocity, the Holosun probably adds back any of the weight savings from the lightening cuts.  When I had mine cut for an RMR, with additional forward serrations and new irons the weight came back identical to factory.

Could be for the install or maybe when it first settles into place after reinstall.  I wanted a optics ready factory model, but gave up on finding one.  Shoot, I couldn’t even find a p-10c that wasn’t used, much less an OR version.  I then ordered the first available Primary machine slide I could find, which ended up being the V2 omen.  Thanks for the input!
