I once bought out a guy's reloading setup and through that, I inherited a brass dryer setup that I have come to appreciate more over the years. It's fast, easy and cheap, and I have never seen another one like it.
The heart of the system is a sieve with a 1/4 inch wire mesh, a used 1200W hair dryer, and a used 5 gal plastic bucket which you cut a hole in to hold the hairdryer.
The great thing is that you can pour the brass into the sieve for separation over your media bucket. Then take the sieve (with the brass still in it) to the dryer bucket for drying. That cuts out a lot of material handling issues.
• You can get
1/4 inch wire mesh sieves
RIGHT HERE. 1/4 inch is just fine enough to capture all the brass, but still let lots of air through.
• You can get a used hair dryer at a thrift store or Goodwill for $4.
Once you have your wet brass in the sieve you simply turn on the hairdryer and allow it to run. In 10 to 15 minutes your brass is at 150°F and all the water is gone !
