To NOT Waste Money on More Pistols I Don't Need

Lately, I've realized that having more than a handful of pistols is a complete waste of money, time and effort. I know, heresy for a gun forum full of enablers  . To challenge my new resolve, a local gun shop texted me a 30% store-wide discount. DFW Shooting Sports in Bedford, TX is moving at the end of the week and are looking to reduce inventory. (For those of you with freer budgets than mine.) Thankfully, my schedule has been too tight to make it there, but I'm struggling every day. Ha There should be a 12 step program, I'm white-knuckling it.

What I have found that helps is to focus on some of the pistols in my inventory that I truly appreciate. So, this week I'm carrying my CZ 75 Omega convertible. It is one of the finest pistols in the world to me and other than the occasional need for a pocket pistol, I really do not need anything else. Yes, I "want" a P-07 and an HK P30, but the truth is, I just flat out don't need either and to spend family money on one of my wants is well, stupid. (FOR ME, at this time.)

So to further my efforts to stay out of the gun store this week, a haiku:

If you had to live with one full size, one compact (my 75 steel frame compact as my 75 alloy frame is not so reliable) and one pocket gun (for me a Kahr PM9) what would it be? (I've settled on pistols with DA trigger pulls for carry).

If all I could have is the three:

• Compact - 2075D RAMI.  I guess technically a sub-compact.
• Full Size - 97BD...during the last ammo "crisis" I could always find .45ACP when there was no 9x19 to be had.  Plus it shoots as well as my 75B high polish and 75B Omega convertible.
• Pocket - Not sure. The RAMI is almost a pocket gun, depending on the pocket.  I have a Ruger LC9S that I'm trying to decide if I like, or at least trust.  I don't shoot small single stack pistols very well, possibly because of my gargantuan hands.  Then again, it's not like they're for shooting bulleye.  More than accurate enough at 10 yards/center mass.

I can still have all the revolvers I want, right?

Definitely. Revolvers are a completely different category and should not be part of the 'pistol count.'

SP-01 Tactical (Cajunized)
P-07 ("     ")
And since I don't like pocket pistols, my third would have to be the Scorpion Evo 3 S1 with a SB folding brace

To the OP- I completely disagree with your premise, as I adopted the following philosophy- one equals none, two equals one.... 

That said to play your game I’ll give you my 3 choices:

1- my DW Specialist Commander in 45 acp

2- my cajunized PO1 Omega

3- my k frame snubby (m64-2)

I will admit to having a bit of an addiction to handguns....
I certainly don’t “need” even 10% of the guns I own, but I do still “want” them.

I’ll go for months of not buying any, then I’ll buy 2 or 3 more in the same month.  But I’ve worked my whole life to support my family - and now have the funds to finally buy something if I feel like it.  I’m enjoying the variety!  Yeah, someday I’ll have to stop all this nonsense, BUT NOT TODAY!

+1 Exactly!!  Hadn't bought a new one in almost a year, satisfying my affliction by 'tweaking' the ones I have and adding Red Dots to my CZ's.
But then it happened... a 3rd Gen S&W 3913 NL
It's one of the best-ever single-stack alloy-framed hammer-fired DA/SA 8+1; and the unique NL in particular is IMHO a beautiful piece of art with the sloped dust cover. Umm...do I need it: NO. But I've convinced my wife it's a good investment. And then suddenly appeared it's baby brother, the CS9 'Chief's Special' another alloy-framed 20.8oz DA/SA 7+1. The moral of this story: Stay off 'Gone Broker' haha

But if the world went all bad and I could only have 3 what would it be?
