Refinish/restoration project complete
« on: October 11, 2019, 10:08:09 AM »

The last step in my CZ 82 project was the Marschal grips, they just arrived.

This is the before picture.

This is the after

Thanks to Ron Mahovsky for the bright nickel finish with flat nickel on the top of the slide.  Other work was to replace all springs, add a Hi Viz front site and Ron also fixed a feed issue.  The pistol was flawless in its first 100 rounds.  Time to get back to the range.

Very nice.  Curious how you intend to use it?  New sight implies carry gun?  or a range darling?

This won't be a regular carry gun, I told my brother in law that it is my "dress up" gun for special occasions or when I just feel like it.  I do intend to get a regular range time with it, though.

Wow. That looks really nice.
It's not saving any water if you have to flush it over and over....

Re: Refinish/restoration project complete - question front sight hi viz

Hi I write from Italy and I read this wonderful forum. Can I ask you if the front sight hi viz alone is sufficient for an optimal aim? Finally where did you find the spring kit in Europe or America? Thanks for the replies

Italian version
Ciao scrivo dall'Italia e leggo questo stupendo forum. Posso chiederti se il front sight hi viz da solo รจ sufficiente per una mira ottimale? Infine dove hai trovato il kit delle molle in Europa o America ? Grazie per le risposte

Greetings!  I bought the replacement springs from this website, https://www.buymilsurp.com/cz82-spring-rehab-kit-9-springs-p-42319.html.  The company is an American company and the full set of springs cost about $25 US.

My CZ 82 is military surplus so I had no idea the condition of the original springs and thought I would start fresh.

For me, replacing just the front sight was sufficient to improve my shooting.  If I were a more serious shooter, perhaps I would have also replaced the back sights but with the Hi Viz up front and the black rear sights, I am very satisfied.

Nice job gun looks great  WOLFF springs has springs for cz  82s.  I use the 16 lb vs the 14lb stock spring

Thanks Green!  Can you tell me more about why you went with the 16 lb. spring?  I've had a couple failure to feeds/ejects in about 350 rounds but wrote it off to being break in issues since this essentailly like a "new" gun with the new springs.

Looks great! Hate to be un-original, but I just bought a CZ-82 with the intention of refinishing it. I really like thoes grips. Do you remember what wood and finish you selected on Marschal's website? How long did delivery take?

My grips are walnut with a red shellac finish.  i ordered July 17 and received them Oct. 10.   I ended up using small o-rings to keep them tight.  Loctite would have worked, too, but I definitely needed something to keep the screws from loosening while shooting.
