I have a PCR that I'd like to have milled to attach a Holosun 507C (uses RMR pattern mounting).  I have looked around and see that Primary Machine, CZ Custom and possibly Cajun Gun Works can mill the slide and use a Trijicon 1911 adapter plate that includes a rear iron sight.

 Like this. And this.

Have any of you had this done?  Who did you have do it?

Did you use a Trijicon plate or a vendor provided plate?

What iron sights did you use?

 Thanks!
Dave

I can't directly answer your question but I am waiting on CGW to complete milling my SP-01 for a non rear sight adapter plate and to install an SRO.  I should have it in hand in a couple weeks and will report back.  In the meantime, I've also just sent my P10C slide to Primary Machine to be milled for a Holosum 507C and for a camo cerakote job.  Again, I can report back.  More to your question tho, I also have a PCR I want to mill for a RDS and asked the CGW folks what RDS they'd recommend given the small/narrow PCR slide.  Dave's verbatim response: "The Shield RMS is pretty bitchin' for the compact CZ's.  Fits and works great on a compact CZ."  Just some food for thought if you're not wedded to the Holosun.

Cheers!

Looking forward to seeing your PCR with the Shield sight. I’m not much more than a couple, three, years away from throwing one on my PCR.

Will do. Might be a bit. Need to recover finances first 😉

I had a CZ75 Compact milled for a DP Pro at Primary Machine.

Used the DP Pro rear sight that attaches to the back of the DP Pro.

Worked great.  Looks odd.  Sight is so much wider than the slide on a CZ75.  Maybe that's one reason for the 1911 adaptor plate - to have a nicer transition from the wide sight to the narrow slide?

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I actually have a P10C slide at Primary Machine right now. :) That's getting a Holosun and a Glock rear sight dovetail milled in front of the optic with a Cobalt Cerakote.

I also own the Shield optic as well. Mine came with an "Optics Ready" S&W Shield handgun.  I have pictures below to illustrate the size. It is a tiny optic and would fit nicely on the narrow CZ75 slide.  I just don't really like that optic. It's fine for a range toy, but not a good design.  I don't like the auto brightness and the fact that it has no controls to override that. I don't like the open battery compartment, and it doesn't have good durability compared to the Holosun.

Here are Sage Dynamics tests of both optics:

Nice!

The 1911 RMR adapter plate is supposedly to give the sight a stable base. The Trijicon plate also includes a rear sight. The Leopold sight doesn't need that obviously.

Primary Machine mentions that they can provide a different plate if you don't want to use Trijicon's. I'm not sure if that's something they make or another 3rd party plate. I'll have to grill them on the specifics.

I believe the adapter plate is required for the RMR in order to accommodate the bolt pattern. It is otherwise too wide for the CZ slide.

Oh yeah.  That too!  :)

Did you consider Meprolight RDS system? Easier to install.

That's interesting. A little too high for my liking and you have to remove the optic to use the iron sights.

I was considering a similar setup for my Kadet:

Meprolight kit has a quick disconnect, so you can switch between red dot and iron sights in a second.

I saw that. That is a nice feature I wish other MRDS manufactures would provide.

All my red dots on long guns have QD mounts.
