To keep costs in check and also to help keep things as simple as possible, we have been cutting in the Glock MOS system mounting plates as we get requests.  The MOS plates are steel and have proven reliable.

This allows you to change optics easily.  We can also cut a CZ dovetail in the MOS "filler" plate so you can return to your OEM sights if you ever decide to go non-optic.

Schmekey, you're w/ Cajun Gun Works?

I have the MOS system on my Maxim 9. It's definitely versatile, I just don't like how it doesn't have a lot of thread engagement for the optics screws into the plate.  I actually had to trim my Shield RMS' screws quite a bit so they weren't coming down out the bottom of the MOS plate.  Since you have to remove a lot of optics (like the RMS) to change the batteries fairly often, maybe once every 6 moths to a year, it's not hard to imagine stripping the MOS plate's threads if one isn't very careful

Good on you for offering the options for the customers that want it though!

That's a nice feature!

More great info!  Thank you.  I have a 6 MOA Venom on a Q5 adapter plate on my 5in PPQ and do like it.  I'm waiting to compare it to the Holosun that'll be on my P10C and SRO on the SP-01 to see if I have any strong preferences before I buy anything else.  My additional optics plans call for both my PCR to get one and my .45 PPQ.  If I love the SRO and can find the cash I can see installing one on the 5in PPQ (range toy) and installing the Venom on the .45 PPQ or PCR.  Man, what an optics rabbit hole!

I can't directly answer your question but I am waiting on CGW to complete milling my SP-01 for a non rear sight adapter plate and to install an SRO.  I should have it in hand in a couple weeks and will report back.  In the meantime, I've also just sent my P10C slide to Primary Machine to be milled for a Holosum 507C and for a camo cerakote job.  Again, I can report back.  More to your question tho, I also have a PCR I want to mill for a RDS and asked the CGW folks what RDS they'd recommend given the small/narrow PCR slide.  Dave's verbatim response: "The Shield RMS is pretty bitchin' for the compact CZ's.  Fits and works great on a compact CZ."  Just some food for thought if you're not wedded to the Holosun.

Cheers!

I actually have a P10C slide at Primary Machine right now. :) That's getting a Holosun and a Glock rear sight dovetail milled in front of the optic with a Cobalt Cerakote.

I also own the Shield optic as well. Mine came with an "Optics Ready" S&W Shield handgun.  I have pictures below to illustrate the size. It is a tiny optic and would fit nicely on the narrow CZ75 slide.  I just don't really like that optic. It's fine for a range toy, but not a good design.  I don't like the auto brightness and the fact that it has no controls to override that. I don't like the open battery compartment, and it doesn't have good durability compared to the Holosun.

I agree with Dave from CGW that the Shield RMS is small enough to fit nicely between the stock sights that will lower 1/3 co-witness. However, I also agree that it's a flimsy sight compared to the Trijicon, DPPro, Vortex or SIG Red Dots I own. A word of caution if you go this route....The Shield RMS has limited elevation adjustment and the CZ-75 slide must be milled with at least a 1 degree forward tilt (relative to top surface of slide) to get enough elevation adjustment to zero at SD range (10 yards).
CGW knows this and will mill it correctly. I learned this the hard way when someone else milled my slide with no forward tilt; and had to add a 1 deg Delrin shim.

So, my other P-01 I had milled by CZ Custom for a Vortex Venom. I like the Venom top-load battery, 6 moa dot, excellent Lifetime Warranty, and especially the two vertical lines on the rear that serve as my BUIS 'goal posts'. I think it's an excellent cost-effective Red-Dot for a 75-compact. And, with CZ Custom's changeable plates, I can switch to a different optic mount in the future.

Thanks everyone for the advice and words of experience.

After much research and consideration I decided to purchase a P-07 to host my Holosun red dot. Its larger slide will accommodate the optic better and it has the rail for a light.

After I made the decision, I actually felt relieved about not modifying the PCR since it's a bit of a classic. Though I might buy a P01 down the road and mount a red dot on it if very durable and reliable smaller (RMS sized) optics become available.

Here is my 07 that Primary Machine did for me. Really love the setup, I paid more for the backup sights but for me, I felt it was worth the extra $$$.

Nice!  That's exactly how I'm going to have them mill mine.

That gray looks good on there. Is that Sniper Gray Cerakote?

Did you get the BUIS sights that they offer as an option or provide your own?  I provided my own with my P10C, but I'm considering theirs this time.

+1 My journey into Red Dots was similar. After trying a red dot on my Glock 17 MOS, I still wasn't sure I wanted to mill my SP-01 Tac, so I bought a P-07 SR to mill for a DPPro. Not only was the P-07's wider slide an excellent red-dot host, what surprised me most was just how good a pistol the (relatively inexpensive) CZ P-07 really is. Of course I subsequently milled my SP-01, P-01 and RAMI BD but my P-07 is still among my favorites! In many thousands of rounds it's never skipped a beat. Didn't need the Glock anymore.  O0

Yes, the coating is Sniper Grey. I got everything from Primary Machine, just figured what the heck have the pros do it all! Not sure what your $$$ situation is but make sure you go in and check out their picture gallery on Instagram, tons of cool pics and unfortunately more ideals that could cost more $$$ !  ;) After looking at there gallery of pic's I see other colors and slide cut-outs and weight-reducing work that I'm sure would lighten the mass and help with less felt recoil. If I had seen them I would have had some of that work done also. The 07 feels great/shoots great and is one of my favorite Cz pistols at half the price of some of my other ones, for me it is that good! Anyways once you get it worked on and home makes sure you post some pics, we will be excited to check it out!  :)
