Is Evo Carbine Supposed to be a Tack-driver?
« on: October 21, 2019, 09:11:59 PM »
I took my new Carbine out to sight it in Saturday, and that thing with plain old 115gr S&B appears to be a tack-driver.  I sighted it in at 100 yds after shooting pairs and marching them to center.  Granted, I do not like the trigger (which will be fixed), but from a bench and using a 30-round mag as a monopod - the thing was way more repeatable and accurate than I’d even hoped for.  My question is whether this is “normal”, or did I just luck-out?

Mine is comparable. I've shot it out to 200yds and it was boringly repeatable(in a good way). Way more fun to shoot close and fast though.

Thanks!

I was very pleasantly surprised.

Now I am second-guessing my plans of suppressed SBR with it.

very cool.

I’d hate to screw it up by going to an 8” barrel and then lose very much accuracy, but I really like what it looks like right now also.

You can do the same with the shorter pistol  barrel. I can't say I've shot 200 yards for group size but with a 5. 3" suppressed HBI barrel, I can hit a 10" plate free hand.

Nice!

I’m pissed at myself for not actually noticing where HBI was when I ordered the trigger parts Saturday.  I was looking at the tracking info - and I drive right by there all the time!  But now instead of just going by and picking the parts up, I have to wait for them to be delivered after paying for shipping. DOHH!

Somehow I missed that message when I was convincing myself that I really had to have one!

I have the Micro and not the Carbine, but even in a 4in barrel I find the Scorpion to be more accurate than I anticipated.

OP, these things can shoot.  The hotter the ammo the better.

My PCC carbine with 115 gr S&B (1280 fps) - 25 yds off sandbag.  HBi trigger spring installed.

My 5.3" ILWT barreled pistol with Federal 9BPLE +P+ @ 25 yds off sandbag, Fastfire II. HBi trigger spring installed.

Very nice!

I got my HBI trigger spring in yesterday - and it still didn’t feel the way I wanted.  So I drove down to CZ Customs and got their whole new trigger and hammer assembly with trigger spring.  Holy smokes!  We’ll see what it shoots like on Saturday.  But right now there is almost zero take-up and zero over-travel, with a super-short reset.  Actual trigger pull weight is about the same as with HBI spring.

Yeah the HBi trigger spring kit is the most expedient way to get a serviceable trigger pull, CZCustom is no doubt the ultimate.  I went the opposite last month with a BFSIII  ;D

Trigger works just as well as I expected it to work today.  So that’s a minor victory.  I didn’t shoot worth a darn today - with any of theguns I took to the range.  But that’s the way it goes sometimes.

I gotta get my form 1’s filed!
