CZ P-01 UG SR
« on: October 25, 2019, 05:02:34 PM »
Who has a P-01 UG suppressor ready model and can tell me about the positives and negatives of this model?

I already know it has the Omega trigger and can be swapped between decocker and safety.  And the decocker points the wrong way.  And it is a color that is harder to keep clean than all black.

I want to know if it is going to run as good as my PCR and original P-01's.  Anyone having any mechanical or feeding/firing issues compared to their older, more traditional model 75's.

I believe that i have read that the finish in this color dose not hold up as well as the standard black polycote. I have not heard of any other specific issues.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

I have a P-01 UG suppressor ready that I recently purchased. I am overall pleased with it but I did experience a few hickups with feeding during my break in rounds.

With 700 rounds of ball ammo (Federal and Sellier & Bellot 124 grain), I had 1 failure to feed.
With 60 rounds of defensive ammo (Sig Elite performance JHP) I had 4 failure's to feed.
Lastly, 60 rounds of Hornady Critical Duty JHP ran flawless.

I will say that accuracy is just as good as my PCR and a previously owned P01 standard. I'm really enjoying the feel of the flatter omega trigger. But the heavy double action pull has seen very little improvement after 820 rounds. Some Cajun TLC should really lighten and smooth things out for sure. I wasn't sure I would like the suppressor height sights but realize now that I'm in no hurry to replace them.

Overall glad to have purchased it and it's definitely a keeper for me.

Never noticed it being harder to keep clean.  Shoot it, clean it, lube it.  Shoot it, don't clean it and yeah, it'll look dirty all the time.

I carried mine for a short bit.  Don't have a suppressor and I bought a different CZ that worked better for a concealed carry pistol.

It is beside my chair in a basket right now.  My "grab a pistol if I hear a wrong sounding noise while in the living room" gun.

Had two or three nose to the feed ramp jams with 115 grain hollow points when it was new.  Polished the feed ramp and no issues since.

If you aren't satisfied with the group size it can use the same match bushing CGW sells for other CZ75 pistols.

I run mine cocked and locked so I never notice the DA trigger pull.

I liked it well enough to buy a black one when I got the chance.

Both of them have Olight PL Mini lights on them.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Mine has been flawless. The CZ UG color is my favorite non-black color from any manufacturer. I really like the supressor height sights as well. For some reason I shoot really good with them. Only issue I had really was the front night sight died after my first range trip. Sent the slide into CZ and after 6 weeks they had me send the rest of the gun back and then sent me a new one. Said they could not get the new replacement front sight.

I really like the omega trigger shoe. The DA pull was really heavy, but some CGW parts and little polishing made a huge difference!

I actually made a range trip last Friday with the P01 and P07. For some reason I just always shoot better with the P07. I always expect to do better with the P01 though.

Funny, ain't it.  I really like the way the P01 feels in my hand, but I shoot my P07 better, too.

It is funny for sure. I did the same trigger work on both my P01 and P07. The P01 trigger came out much smoother on the DA pull. But, I that dang P07 just slightly performs better for me.

I like a nice trigger.  A really crisp, not necessarily light, trigger is wonderful.  I have a couple, three CZ's with really nice SA triggers.  So nice that you have to put a trigger pull gauge on them to convince yourself they really are 3 lbs. even.

But, a nice trigger, for me anyway, didn't seem to affect how I shoot an M&P I bought awhile back.  The usual nasty M&P trigger and crappy groups made me feel the need to improve that pistol.  I bought one of the nice/expensive Apex trigger kits for it and it is downright awesome.  A nice, crisp 3 lb. trigger pull with no detectable rearward trigger movement from sear reset to bang there goes the next round.  But it did not improve the groups one bit.  Not a bit.  I was sure that super nice feeling trigger would help.  Had to buy the Apex barrel you have to fit to the slide to improve the groups.

Might be similar with the P01/P07.  P01 feels better but the P07 is tighter and more consistent on barrel lockup.
