CZ75B Stainless
« on: October 26, 2019, 03:05:00 PM »
a local pawn shop has had a high polish CZ75B in the counter for a couple of years.  Factory sights, one aftermarket MecGar mag (as they've parted out the original mags) and aftermarket wood grips (Cocobolo, they say?).  No box, and it doesn't come with the original rubber grips.

The trigger feels nice, and the finish and barrel look good.

In general, what would you consider a fair offer?

Thanks!

You can get a new one for around 7 bills, so 6 or less would be a good deal imo

If it's been in a pawn shop for a couple of years without the original grips, mag's or box I'd try low balling it. Most pawn shops want to turn over there stuff, not have it sit for a couple of years. Of course a non willingness to deal might explain why it's been there for two years.

they've always had it marked at $800.  Typical pawn shop around here way overprices their guns.  For me, when something is blatantly over-priced, it just discourages me from even trying to negotiate.

I might offer them an even trade for a revolver and see if they would bite just to swap inventory.

thanks!

For everything you mentioned, I wouldn't pay anything over $520.  Right now on Gunbroker. you can get a brand new polished stainless CZ75b for $650 delivered to your FFL, no sales tax.

Yeah, I was going to say 500 - 550
No OEM Mags (and there were two) and no Owner's Manual
Now some of the HiPolished DID come with Cocobolo Grips
I remember Cabela's had their stock of CZ 75 HiPolish Stainless come with Cocobolo Grips
But they DID say "CZ" on them
Hell, offer the guy 500 and see what he comes back with
You may be able to pick it up for a good price, since he's been sittin' on it for over a year

Nice price ....  BUT
I noticed in the ad that they only included ONE Magazine
The Factory sends out two Mags, so it sounds like that shop shorts the Pistol sale and sells the extra Mag separately
Personally, I hate a shop that does that !

It was a used gun, not sure why he said is was brand new. Shoot Straight is a real honest shop. No worries with them

Hey Mercs, as long as YOU're happy, who am I to b!+<#
Just found the ad a bit wonky, given what you said about the Pistol, once you got it !

Can't say any of my Handguns are as the Factory shipped them
In-fact; I'd (almost) bet they're not !

I just spent $ 715 for a matte finished stainless steel, yesterday. Owner of the LGS said that that was the last she could get, as 2019 was the last year for the stainless models. The new 2020 catalog doesn’t have stainless 75’s listed at all. Grab em while you can.

I picked this one up at the LGS on consignment for under $550.00.  Its all about being in the right place at the right time.  But for the one you were describing, I'm thinking about $500 to $550 and $600 tops on a weak day.
