Need info on Brian Enos slide glide
« on: October 30, 2019, 03:57:22 PM »
I usually use Hoppes and Break free (started using in the Army. Drill sgt. Had us showering with our weapons.) for cleaning and oiling. But I saw this slide glide and thought what the hell. After reading the write up I thought it was worth a try. But then the smart part of my brain said ask first. If it's good maybe someone has used it.

It’s good. I use the “light” on barrel lugs & main springs

Yes they said that. Said it improved trigger pull and feel. But they also claim if you put it on the slide it reduces recoil. Was wondering if anyone experienced this? Or is it one of those deals where it's so slight you can't tell. Thanks

I have used it on frame rails before but prefer oil these days (extends the time between cleaning)

Yeah I use Hoppes. Always have, and Breakfree. My dad used it on his shotgun

Not buying this in the least. Any lube that you put on the slide rails that reduces felt recoil would have to be heavy enough to reduce slide velocity and that would likely affect reliability. I'll stick with oil.

I've used the Glide Lite on my centerfire guns for years.  Works fine, stays put, not too thick or heavy.  I don't use it on the Kadet.  I use it on the hammer and sear/striker faces also.  Good stuff.  Never noticed any difference in recoil and never really worried about it, either.  Try it.

I’ve used the Lite as well. The standard Slide Glide has too much drag, at least in my pistols in the MidWest. I would not suggest using it below 40*F either or you might experience cycling problems. Other than that it’s good stuff and a small tub lasts a LONG time. I‘ve had mine well over a decade.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll use the light like ya'll  do just on hammer, sear, and maybe try it on the trigger mechanisms and springs just to see what it feels like and how it works.
