Sig SP 2340
« on: October 30, 2019, 10:50:10 PM »
Anyone have any info on these? Never had a Sig. Heard good things. Hell cops use them. Really don't like poly frames but like everything I guess I need to adapt. Maybe one day v8s will be gone with oil and everything will be electric or some other type energy. I'd run mine on alcohol and full synthetic if need be.

Sigpro 2340 is no longer made. It was superseded by the 2022. So named because it was ordered on a contract by the French Police which expires in 2022.

It has probably the best out of the box trigger of any Sig pistol excepting the P210. It is available in 9mm, 40, and 357Sig.

I had a 2022 in 40 and got rid of it when I went to 9mm semi-auto pistols only.

I wasn't born in America, but I got here as fast as I could.

If you gonna try polymer SIG, I'd suggest P320 (striker fired) or 2022 (hammer) . Going with used old model in cal 40 will probably ruin your wallet  O0
And you cannot hear anything wrong about SIG pistols  :D

Saw one for sale at a decent price was wondering about everything basically. If Sig still offers any parts for repair/upgrade or if anyone offered upgrades for it. My understanding, Sig is an excellent weapon.

I shot a buddies 2022. I agree with Grendel, that trigger was incredibly smooth. Like butta. . .

Don't own the 2340, but we have 2 SP 2022's.  They are great guns and spend a lot of time at the range. My wife would CC hers if it wasn't a full size gun(she tried in her purse, but was too heavy.)

If you see decent price for old, used gun (especially when Police used it) that means you need to spend another 60% - 75% of the value to replace most of action worn off parts.
I will go with other's suggestions and find SIG2022.
If you are short of $$$ think about TAURUS G3 then, you won't be disappointed. (however it's not hammer fired gun)

Thanks. Not a cop gun, just used. That's what worries me about used guns, how "used" are they and how much use is left before needing rebuilding. Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I'll stick to the plan. Work towards getting me a CZ.
