CZ P09 internals going bad ???
« on: November 03, 2019, 05:38:02 AM »
Hi all, I'm the owner of a new P09, I ve fed a few thousand rounds through it, all in all a very impressive gun. Not very happy with the stock grip, it kinda feels like holding an old axe, but this is not the reason of my grief now:)
I take goog care of the gun, I clean and oil it every 100 rounds, and while doing that, I noticed on the rear insert a wear that does not seem ok. I know it's a parr I can change, but I just wanted to get someone else's oppinion before writing to the dealer. Is this normal?

Before we go any further, I don't think any of us understand what you're talking about.
What is a rear insert?
Are you talking about the magazine? Are you talking about the inside of the slide on the frame? We definitely need some pictures to help us understand what you're talking about.

My P-07 had a rough part there also.
I think it was there when new, and I just didn’t notice.
I could not see anything that would “cause” it to happen to begin with, unless it left the factory like that.

I just knocked it down with a small file, then polished the spot I worked on.  In the 5 months and 3,000 rounds since then - nothing has changed.

Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the huge pic. I think the slide catch/release somehow gets snagged on the internal rail causing that kind of damage. So you re saying I need not worry, that s not what s causing me to shoot a crappy group?:))

Hahaha.... I cannot comment on groups, as I believe we all struggle there.

He's talking about the frame inserts of which there are 4 that are pinned to the plastic frame and are what the slide rides on.

I think I had some of that on my first P-07 too.  I just filed them down and kept on rollin'.  They haven't changed since.  Nothing to worry about.

Not an issue as other have said. I would not say you are getting any premature wear.

Mine has had the same wear since it's first outing and now after 12,000 rounds it looks the same.

On a side note cleaning or lubing every 100 rounds is overkill.

You could easily lube every 300 and clean every 1000.

Unless you just enjoy cleaning. In that case, rock on.
