I think we'll still see the DWX released at some point - I haven't given up hope. Honestly, it's still about the only 9mm pistol that has my interest st this point.
I agree everything on the market now is so run of the mill I'd be hard pressed to buy anything new at this point. The DWX would be a nice deviation from the boring norm.

On the Dan Wesson site, they said the DWX is all but dead.
We likely won't ever see this pistol, it's a total shame.  I waited 2 years for the DWX, I'll be getting staccato instead.

;) I did that decision long time ago... No regret at all.  8)
Wilson Combat is also good option with several amazing handguns.

I just read what they added to the DW website. When they say they are halting promotion of the DWX I think that's all we need to know to understand that the project is likely dead. I have to think there was/is some serious flaw that they have been unable to overcome and have given up. Many new products have come to market even with the obstacles created by the plandemic so what else could it be?

CZ/Dan Wesson always keeps me scratching my head. I have been waiting on the DWX as well. They even showed it again at SHOT Show again this year, and now it is gone from the website. Oh well I guess.

DW has trimmed down their line significantly from what it was just a few months ago. All of the Vigil series are gone, which is another head-scratcher, since my understanding is that they were pretty popular. Although it reinforces my working theory that they are pushing DW to be the higher-end 1911 manufacturer in the overall lineup by dropping their less expensive models, and positioning Colt to be the go-to 1911 maker in the $800-$1200 range.

I am guessing that some restructuring is going on for sure. I think that would be a good move making DW 1911s the higher end and offering Colt at a lower price range. I hope CZ gets back to that small company personal fell though. That is one of the things that drew me to them. They already wiped out thier LE/MIL program from what it was. They just don't need to lose focus on thier great customer service.

Hoping the DWX being dropped is just for a while and they will improve the design until re-release. Adding an optics cut would be a big plus. Found a few posts on a 1911 forum from people saying they have sources at CZ and this is just part of the restructuring process. People are saying they expected DW quality to improve the Colt name, but some are worried that Colt execs are in control and will bring down DW quality. I honestly do not see that happening. DW has built a trust worthy name and is known for quality. Even those that do not prefer a DW 1911 will always state they are high quality. Even saw a Wilson Combat video with Bill Wilson saying in that proce range a DW should be the number 1 choice.

I had one on hold for over a year and was finally told by the dealer it was dropped for production. Was not told if or when it will come back.

That is correct. I purchased one yesterday and they still have them available as of 7/28/23, but the price just jumped to $2099 on the PSA web site.

I saw that, but I was too late in purchasing it before it was out of stock. I went ahead and paid the $1999 at PSA since I was not sure if I would see it available again any time soon.
