Thinking about getting a christmas present this year but having a tough time between these two beauties. Trying to see what's the pros and cons between the both.

That's easy: get both. :D  They're CZ's so you should just accept the fact that you'll end up with both anyway.  It's inevitable.  They breed in your safe like rabbits!

Seriously, though.  It depends upon what you intend to do with it.  Range fun?  Casual competition?  Both are excellent choices and you can't go wrong with either one.  What it comes down to is which one 'works' better in terms of ergonomics and comfort.  For me, it doesn't get much better than a CZ 75.  It's a perfect fit.

I have the CZ 75 Bull Shadow w/optic cut and using a Vortex Venom. Prior to this I was a dedicated 1911 guy. However the CZ pistols I think are far and above accuracy wise than the 1911s. Plus there are none of the idiosyncrasies so common with the 1911s i.e. mags etc.,etc.  The CZ are amazingly accurate and have made me a much better shooter. For me I was looking for a CZ optics ready that would weigh in something near the 1911 weight. 75 Bull Shadow fit the bill! Am lovin' it!

i have both.  wife likes the S2 and i like the BS better.  both shoot about the same with the BS maybe a tiny bit flatter but i cant prove it.  biggest difference is the frame feel especially the backstrap on the S2 has a bit of a corner.  the BS is more rounded which is nice but i would like the checkering. the BS does get a bit slippery with damp with no front/back checkering.  more holsters for the S2 for sure.  RHT is about the only place i could find a holster.  safety on the BS is also smaller and a bit harder to deactivate in a hurry.  i shoot production on a dropped hammer so i don't care about.  i suggest you see if you can handle both.  thats the biggest difference.  both a great pistols so its a no lose proposition.

cheers

I'm probably going for casual competition but my issues is the rail on the shadow 2 feels like it's not neccessary for me and I love the look of the original cz 75 frame.

I've handled the shadow 2 but have not with the bull shadow, cz custom shop offers the frame and the slide separate (financially pleasant). Hopefully I can find a range that offers a rental for the BS.

hmm..  I like the idea of having a grip and frame I like that fits my hand and has enough weight to stabilize things..
and then add uppers to suit the need.
