CZ Custom 75 SA 357 Sig (CTS Slide)
« on: November 10, 2019, 11:50:30 PM »
What a great hunting pistol this is turning into.  Have not played with 125gr bullets yet, but i am getting 1350 fps with 147gr XTPs and primers still look fine with no pressure indications on the brass. Trigger is exactly 3.25 lbs.  Fellow shooters think it is a target pistol when the Kadet 2, 9mm or 40 cal are used.  Drop the 357 with full up loads and she lets everyone know paper punching is not her purpose. Recoil is quite manageable, but she does make some noise. Did need heavier recoil spring.

Accuracy is everything i could hope for.  357 Sig I have yet to see a group over 2 in @ 25yds. Spring Pigs are in trouble.

Thanks for the great work.  This is now my go to pistol.

That sounds like fun. Are you using an optic?

No optic, using the Bomar style CZ rear sight with a fiber optic front. Who would of guessed that just an inch longer barrel would let this cartridge out perform the 158gr 357 mag load, with an equivalent barrel.

Now I am looking forward to the target version coming in this week from CZ Custom.  This one will be all optics and a 2.5-3lb trigger.  Intended for bullseye and maybe Bowling Pin. Anticipation... :).

That's pretty good accuracy.  I'm barely getting 3" groups at 25yds with my CZ Custom Bullseye model.  Did you have to break yours in before you got that accuracy?

Abner,

357 Sig seems to be a very accurate round.  Many of my load tests have extreme spreads of 15fps or less.  But even the ones with 50 fps ES still group well.  9mm I am happy with anything under 30 fps ES and some of the ones with 10 fps ES are not that accurate.  Did not have any break in time before load development.  Probably have run 40 different loads with 20 rounds each.  But I was getting great accuracy from the beginning on the 357 Sig.  Still looking for my target load in 9mm with 115 gr HAP.  So far VV N320 and 231 are holding the most promise in the accuracy dept.  No clear winner yet.

Good Luck
