This is something new to me. I’ve always taken my barrels to a smith to have them crowned. How is this done? I really like the look.

Look up videos for the manson crowning tool. It centers itself on the barrel rifling and uses it as a pilot. Then it cuts perpendicular to that pilot shaft. Hand crank or slow rpm power tool.

I bought a cheapo black and decker power screwdriver to run mine.

The Brownells tools are easy as pie too, and they work great. I've always had them because I always do my own crowning. The tools are also nice to have just to fix any mishaps while in the field.
I do like a nice clean, crisp crown.
Alot of the time I just use the brass crown lapping tools and some 600 lapping compound and it's good as new.

Are you re crowning because the 10x bushing looks to long or to improve accuracy?
