CZ-527 aesthetics question
« on: December 09, 2019, 12:13:01 PM »
Ok fellas like my title says I have a question pertaining to the 527 safety operation. Well, I’m sure nothing is wrong functionally but my 527 American wears a semi circular scratch where the safety swings up and down on the back of the action where clearance is tight I guess. My other 527 doesn’t exhibit the same behavior at all with no such scratch. Is this a normal thing to happen or something I should maybe contact CZ about? Not sure whether they would do anything for a “cosmetic” issue but it is unsightly to an otherwise easy on the eyes rifle. It’s just a semi circular thin line being scratched into the bluing every time I activate the safety.
Thanks,
Big Ed

I wouldn't call it normal but it is also not unheard of. Two of thirteen have silvered where the safety overhangs the rear bolt recess (the 1/4 circle the safety passes over). I think it has to do with how tightly the safety fits where it pivots.

Interesting, I never looked at that before. I also never use the safety, since I haven't been able to take my carbine hunting but once since I got it. I'll check when I get back to the home front.
