CZ 550FS Value
« on: February 18, 2020, 07:50:22 AM »
I am interested in what the current market value of a full stocked 550 chambered in 6.5X55 might be? Has anyone seen or heard of one for sale lately?

A dealer on Guns International list 550 Full Stocks for sale in 243, 6.5-55, 270, 308 and 30-06 for between $750 and $850. Price seems to vary by caliber. The 6.5-55 splits the difference at $800.

Thanks, David...I thought I had checked that site but must have missed it somehow. My guess on the value would have been about $100 higher, but this seems to say otherwise.

My crystal ball has never been very good but with CZ discontinuing the 550's (they just dumped a bunch of 550 African calibers on the market) for the 575 series the value of the 550 should go up in the future. Look what happened to the 452 rimfire series. Right now there are still quite a few 550 rifles still in the pipe line and CZ has stated that they won't be bringing the Full Stocks into the U.S. market anymore. The Full Stocks are a niche market in the U.S. but a very desirable niche to those who like them. I don't tend to think of firearms as investments but the value of 550 Full Stocks isn't going to do anything but go up once the supply is gone. It's just to good of an action. Anyway that would be my opinion. In the mean time you have a great rifle in your collection.

There's a new listing on there for one now for under $600.

The 6.5 seemed to be selling at premium for the last few years , I think a new one for less than $800 is probably a deal. I bought the 9.3x62 after considering the 6.5x55 it was NIB for $700 private sale no tax.

The American calibers 243 270 30/06 don't have the appeal of the metrics new or used .

I don't know if my 9.3 will gain much value but I would bet the 6.5s will.
