I just finished installing the last of the modifications on my SP-01 Tactical. A couple of weeks ago I installed the CGW Tac de-cocker kit, trigger, hammer, springs etc. plus Armor Craft black thin aluminum grips. I also installed a stainless guide rod. Today I installed the 10X bushing and Dawson Precision fiber optic front - black fixed rear.
The original bushing was in VERY tight. I tried the freezer method; not sure if it helped but it came out with no damage. The original bushing is about 0.003" larger ID than the 10X. I was able to get the 10X in straight on the 1st attempt phew! I put a light coating of grease on the inside of the slide and on the bushing and used a delrin hammer to tap the bushing in. After I installed the front sight the roll pin went in just fine. I was worrying about that, relieved it went well. The barrel goes in easily.
The pistol was very accurate before putting in the 10X, so I'm anxious to see if there is any discernible difference.
I liked the original nite sights, but for general shooting, the narrower higher contrast front sight works better for my 63 year old eyes.
So all said and done, it is set up pretty much like the Shadow Custom for about $300 less. I probably put 8-9 hours into it.
