Not bad at all.  They had two as I was doing my grocery shopping.  So I picked them both up.  27 cents a round is ok in my book.:D

I'll check and see if my local WalMart has started carrying them as well. Would be good to know there's a local source at a reasonable price when you suddenly run out. 8)

Sometimes they are out but if you ask a member of management at the sporting goods department, they will special order it from their catalog.  There is no fee and the price is the same.

You are very welcome,  also, the carry 7.62x39 Soviet, which blew me away, but its the Winchester brass only and not the Wolf Steel.

The Winchester 7.62x39 is very very accurate and if their price is good, may represent a good value for the money.  With all of the SKS's, AK's, and Ruger Mini-30's around, it would be a logical development.  It may also be available cheaper in bulk from a Mail Order distributor.

jwc007:
I will share a revelation with you.  For the many years that I have been shooting Soviet AK/SKS and other Kalashnikov and Simonov variants.,  I have never used anything other than Soviet steel cased Wolf and Chinese Steel cased Norinco.
It may sound irrational, but I am almost afraid to try the Winchester brass. :rollin  :rollin  :rollin  :D

Maadi AKM, Chinese Milled SKS, Ruger Mini-30

So far, all of the above like the Winchester USA 7.62x39mm and no ill effects have been noted, over the years.  I do shoot more Non-US made steel cased ammo through them though, with the exception of the Ruger Mini-30, which gets mostly Brass cased Ammo, domestic or foreign.

The 7.62x39mm Ammo that you should be afraid of is any of the Chinese made stuff, that may be lingering around.  The box may say it's Non-Corrosive, but it is!  Horror stories of metal pitting, rusted op rods, and other misc. damage abound!

Sorry to hijack the thread. It just drifted into a 7.62x39mm thread.

Thanks for the input, but either way, Walmart has good deals now on the ammo types that we didn't know they carried, so thats all good news, especially for .357SIG and 7.62x39 shooters.
