Comp is on, load testing with minor PF this weekend, but I'll save that for the other thread. Open Poors!

Comp spun off. Twice with different mounting techniques. That was a month ago - I lost interest until yesterday. Comp is back on with new hopes, cross your toes for me that it stays on this time. Chamber is reamed. powders are gathered. Fun time ahead hopefully!

Bring out ye covidead thread... DONG.... Bring out ya covidead thread... DONG"
I'm reviving this thread due to recent testing.
Shot 3 mags of minor PF rounds yesterday and the comp holds.
It took a lot of work, but was simple in effect really. I have tested with a few middle of the road pwoders for open guns starting low of course.
I'll be working up the loads and testing soon.
I did have a few stovepipes which I account for the extra weight of the barrel and comp. The 9maj rounds I tried before (that did knock the comp OOT and my trigger set screw loose), had absolutely no problem running the slide and feels like shooting a 357 mag. Also shoots a full foot higher at 50 yds than minor PF rounds.

Good pics posted soon (ish)...

It's been a long road. With many saying it can't or shouldn't be done (building an 01 racegun). There are some that like to do what others can not. Thx to those here with the carrots and sticks!

Made 9Maj vel today! First match of the year is Sat. We will see how she runs.
Cheely mount is ordered for C-More RDS. More to come.

If this thing runs, I'm going to build a backup gun just like it!
Time to fire up the 650 once again...

Ran it - with irons, had issues with mags on first round. have since upgraded the mecgars to hennig basepads and the spring follower options now hold 23 rounds. I was slow but it was fun!

Dot has been mounted and sighted in, now looking for race holster options and slide racker.

First pic is not good pic of the dot as its out of focus. trust me its awesome and the ability to change dot sizes and have the low bore axis is pretty dang cool.

Working on Grips and ordered a magnetic holster block from BS shop and they said back order for 2 weeks. Looking closer at it I wish I had ordered it earlier. It looks lik it should be somewhat decent to make a housing/mount. I also added the little circle thigh pad for another 17$. So I'm in for ~$80 on the holster so far.

Also need recommendations on slide racker. It will need to be a nub on the right hand side.

Will shooting the 97 in the meantime!

well the USPSA match was today, but I was not there... I was cleaning the garage (my mess) and getting christmas stuff down. But before that, I was working on my racegun grips and thinking out a good holster setup.

So,, the grips are 90% don on one side, and 20% done on the other. So for now I just used a 3D printed grip on the left side and the right side is the full custom Walnut with finger grooves and a thumb rest. So Basically the left hand side thumb rest part of the grip is setup so that the ext. safety drops into a pocket in the grip. so when going on safe, I will use my trigger finger to swipe the right side safety up/on, then on the draw stroke use the thumb to swipe down and plant on the grip pocket. It simply feels amazing, but I'm biased because of how many hours to get to this point.

The next step is to make a race holster. I figured Id save a couple hundred bucks  by buying the DAA race block inser for the SP-01 (kind of a rare find as not many run these in open/limited, but whateves..) I bought a thigh pad as well, so now I just need to form a holster body that will attach the belt clip to the insert block and then hang off the thigh pad. I'm looking at aluminum, angle iron, or just walnut even. I'll also have to keep in mind that the big dot hanging off the left will have to be designed around a bit too, and thus is the reason that I need a new holster in the first place.

Anyone else gone super cheap and rolled their own using just he insert blocks? I'll tor to get some pics up soon.

I also put a LG Singlair stainless steel muzzle break on my 6ARC CMMG AR barrel today-not quite related, but needed a quick win to keep motivated.
Slow run but stay tuned...

My grip screw was too long causing the mag brake to stop the mag from being inserted. Lesson learned. Dry run your stuff before going to the range! Also take staple gun and tripod /chrono attachment (both left at home so no vel readings AGAIN...)

The 97 ran GREAT! Alliant Power Pistol and Berrys 230 gn was dang fun!
The Sinclair Brake mad a big difference to. worked up my ladder load with Leverloution with Berger 105s went well.

Zombie Thread Update:
https://rumble.com/v288zdb-glock-comp-on-czsp-01-openracegun-install-test-and-fail.html
Tried putting a new comp on the SP-01 Open Race Gun and it came out of time within 30 rounds of minor PF. I don't balme the comp mfg, I didn't think it would work but I have other ideas now.
Posting to Rumble now. Watching gun videos on YouTube just makes me laugh now with all the things you can't do or say or even think...
digressing. More to come.
The BullShadow shot like a dream. I only had one malfunction that was me not seating the mag enough.
