The weather here in Kansas is warm and sunny today so I decided to clear out some clutter that has been collecting in my garage. I sorted and cleaned off my work bench and tossed out junk until I got to an old duffel bag full of vintage mostly junk reloading equipment I bought at a garage sale last summer. I remember buying it for $20 because I saw a few old Hercules and Dupont powder cans and shot bags in it. I started digging into the old duffel bag and found a set of 25-20 rifle dies and a old Lee hand loader then things started getting better. As I dug deeper I found 2 boxes of Peters Rustless 38 S&W and 2 boxes of Remington Arms 38 S&W Smokless ammo. My biggest surprise was at the very bottom, the gun that went with the ammo a small 5 shot S&W in a small red box The SN is 4XXX with no model number the grips have a diamond and the hammer spring is flat not a coil like on a j frame I think it's called a Terrier. I know the 38 S&W cartridge is outdated and less powerful than a 380 acp but it's still a cool little gun that will be at home in my Smith and Wesson collection right beside my prewar K-22. The funny thing is that was the only garage sale I've stopped at in the last 10 years I think I stopped because I saw an shotgun reloader setting at the end of the driveway.
