CZ p-01 question
« on: January 06, 2020, 03:39:59 PM »
I am new to the forum and looking to buy my first cz. I came across a p-01 today in a pawn shop. It’s used and it appears to be very clean. I was wondering what a fair price would be to ask? I think he had $520 on the sticker. Appeared to have aftermarket grips installed. Thanks

I first got interested in the P-01 when I fondled one in a pawn shop.  I returned a couple tikes iver the next few weeks but at about the third visit it was gone.   I was sad.  I think it was tagged at $500.

I saw another in a different pawn shop a couple months later and tried to trade for it, but didn't like the deal.  So I sold the trade myself to help fund the P-01, but by that time it was gone.  This one was a little rougher/older than the first, but was tagged around $550.

So I vowed that next time I saw one it would go home with me.  a few months later I found a barely used 2019 production P-01 for $460, and the best specimen of the three.  It went home with me.

Plus, instead of a pawn shop, it was in the used counter of my favorite local sports/outdoor store (Gander), which I trust a lot more than my local pawn shops which are typically well overpriced.

Another source I'm becoming more comfortable with is buying/trading from this forum, which I trust more than my local pawn shops.  And I see P-01's come up more often here, and in better condition, than my LGS's.  For example, last week one was posted for $475, LNIB 2019 production.  But they never last long.

Thank you for the information. How can you tell when it was manufactured? I think I’ll offer 450 and see what he does.

I wouldn't go for more than $450.
You can find new P-01 on GunBroker for $499.
Year of manufacturing is located on the slide.

CZ p-01 question

Well I just came back from the shop and she came home with me! I ended up paying $485 which seems like a reasonable deal to me. It seems to be hardly used at all with 2019 manufacture date. After doing some research it looks like it has cool hand grips on it. I may be changing them out. I see why everyone raves about the cz now. It fits my hand perfectly and the action is smooth as butter. I think I’m in love   :-*

I just traded 2 s&w for 1 p01.  I don't feel bad about that deal.  I don't see czs for sale often in Michigan

Congratulations. If it didn't come with them, recommend trying OEM rubber grips.

Nice find and well done on the price. As someone mentioned the OEM rubber grips are excellent. I would run them if the trigger reach in DA was not a little too long for me.

Idrum88, NICE score! There is only one major problem with the gun you bought, you will soon find out it will require many other CZs to join it! They are like rabbits, you start with one or two, and before long you have a dozen. Enjoy!
