You know, being a lefty won't compensate for bullet drift due to the clockwise spin of the bullet at longer ranges.... ::)

So, how does it shoot?

I was partial to Rem. M700 rifles due to experiences with the Varmint Special I got many years ago.

My brother bought a Savage varmint rifle in .223 and it's darn good shooting rifle.  When he passed away my youngest son got it and he's really happy with the way it shoots.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Excellent cartridge choice. 270Win can take any non-dangerous game animal in the US at any reasonable range. The classic 130gr loading is one of the best all around deer loads.

Great set up. I started with a 270 Mossberg. I sold it off and ended up with a 25.06 Mossberg that had trigger issues. Sold it and was without a hunting rifle for a few years. Decided I wanted to get back into it and ended up with a Winchester XPR with Vortex scope and have been very happy! Just really like the 270 round.

He's exactly right. I hunted deer a long time from my 20s thru 40s with a 270 win. Seeing your set up takes me back.

Though many may differ, I don't see how your combination could possibly be improved on for US game, especially deer.
