I have recently got back into shooting after many years off and am really enjoying it since where I live most clubs are outdoors, open all year round and inexpensive. I have a bunch of pistols (22's-9mm's) and a few rifles (22, 223 & 7.62x39) which I use for target shooting exclusively and that's it. Typically I get out 1-2 times a week.
But lately I've been thinking about a shotgun. Now, I don't hunt anymore and probably won't, but I've been thinking about a shotgun and saw the CZ Bobwhite. It reminded me of the first shotgun my grandfather bought me when I was 13 or so. That was a double barrel 28 gauge which I used for small game but traded it for an Ithaca pump when I was in high school. But I loved that double barrel.
Last month I bought a CZ 527 Carbine in 7.62 x 39 and was really impressed by the quality of it including the walnut stock and the bolt action which brought me to the Bobwhite.
So I am thinking of buying one just to have and do some occasional target practice at the range, but that's it. Maybe a block shoot? Home defense, maybe, but not the best option. I think I am wanting one for old time sake and I am a sucker for a nice double barrel with an English grip and at the going price point it seems like a great deal. I'm looking at the 20 gauge right now. Anyone with comments on the new G2's would be appreciated.
