Hi guys, a while back I picked up a CZ DUO that had plenty of “patina” on it for a song at a local gun show. I love this little .25 and would like to do a proper conservation on the pistol. It has some pitting and has lost a fair amount of its original finish over the years. When I purchased it, it had the spring from what looked like a BIC ink pen in place of a striker spring and was missing the striker spring guide rod. Thankfully a fellow forum number told me about the 6d nail fix and I was able to table top fabricate a new one. Add one spring kit for a Colt 1908 and I had a fine shooting little pistol.
I’ve enjoyed my little DUO as a shooter for the past couple of years and, as I said before, I’d like to conserve it. Has anyone ever completely disassembled their DUO before? If you have, do you have any tips for me before I get out the punches and start taking her down the rest of the way? I have done complete takedowns of my 75s and 1911s without much issue, but I feel more like a jeweler with this thing than a gunsmith.
Thanks in advance.
