The CZ 75's in matte or polished are stainless. There are several threads here on the P-01's that weren't stainless and turned out to be nickel plated.

I thought that the full size guns had stainless frames and, that’s what I don’t understand... CZ can make full-size frames in stainless, and for the compacts they have them plated? What kind of moron thought that would fly? Total fail on CZ’s part.. There’s no reason they couldn’t have made the compact frames in stainless.. Hopefully, they learned from this asshattery...

for the full sized 75, CZ USED TO make stainless steel frames. They have all been discontinued

the compact model claimed to be "high polish", not certain the box said anything about stainless steel (don't have one to check)

You have to admit, a little honesty here would’ve went a long ways..I have a stainless Beretta Vertec, Beretta never hid the fact that the frames were aluminum-alloy, they sold every one they made.. CZ could’ve been a little more up front about what the frames were,or were not..

From what I heard, the faux compact stainless that hit US shores were surplus items from a contract in India. They were nickel-plated for the Indians, and never meant for the US market.  Yeah, I agree with you.  CZ screwed up by advertising it as pure stainless here in the US, but first CZ sales put that gun in the $500 range with buyers not knowing any better.  Only after the gun approached the $1000 mark did buyers learn they were duped when the plating on the slides and frames began to chip and flake after extensive firing. Yet, these POS guns still kept selling at a premium because of its so-called collectability (I mean really? The gun was a fake, and the CZ markings on the slides looked like a rush job to me after I held and inspected one up close at my LGS).  Turns out my LGS sold it for $1400 late last year.  I couldn't believe it!

Well, you know the old saying..A fool and his money are soon parted.. Sounds like your LGS found a huge fool...

Im torn on the pricing for the “stainless” P01.   I nearly bought one for a grand last week and held back due to the issues we all know about it. Plus CZ could crank them out anytime in the future.

Buy a 99041 at a reasonable price then send it out to Fords in Florida for a polished Hard Chrome finish.

It'll run you less than the markup of the supposed stainless.

The roll marks on those "stainless" P-01's look like someone handed an electro pencil to a 10yr old. I can't imagine paying a grand for that.

The 99021 looked much better than the 99041

Were there 2 versions of the faux stainless P01? I thought  99021 and 99041 were polycoated steel frames.

No, just talking about the roll marks. The "stainless" ones were the worst I've seen.

Gotcha. Those roll marks are a bit of a mystery to me. Completely out of character for CZ.

Maybe a technical middle school co-op program or something. I'd support that...though not at these prices.

Forgive my ignorance and this is not a sarcastic question but what is the appeal of a steel frame P-01 over an aluminum frame P-01 Omega? Just curious.

It feels wonderful (the weight) and the beavertail of the steel frames is a full extended and rounded tail.

They are also safety and not decocker. I prefer safety.

I much prefer the steel frame compacts to the p-01 and rail-less steel frames.

But we are splitting hairs. The variety is nice
