I have lots of room to be critical.  If I was an anti-cz troll, no.

I ordered it online and yes, I checked it out, but no, I'm not sending it back because the gun functions etc.

These are generally hard to get, and I saw ONE at a show in Dec, and waved cuz it was stiff.  I see plenty of reviews, and yes they are decent, but tout a hard DA pull, but did not know it was quite this bad.

If we just keep our mouths shut CZ will keep sending out lousy triggers - so I let it rip - as I should.  I redeemed two P07s, so I may try on this one.  But they ought not put our guns like this.

How many rounds did you shoot this firearm? I've missed this info.

Sorry - I underestimated - shouldn't want to disappoint you.   8)

Seriously cannot believe how stiff these are.  I think it is actually stiffer than one of my bad P07s.  Hopefully, it will turn out as good!  It is just a shame than CZ would turn out triggers this bad.  I can say this with confidence - no one should carry a trigger like this for any real purpose - it is really not useable.
Why not just get rid of it if it’s that bad? You sound completely unhappy with the gun so instead of bleep talking it, just sell it, trade it or throw it away. Mines great!

OK.. let's help him to find out the best solution...
I can understand briang2ad's frustration, I've bought my firearms online as well... If he wants to keep CZ, let's help him to enjoy this pistol.

and... briang2ad,  "How many rounds did you shoot this firearm? I've missed this info."

Guys:  all valid points - no problem

1)  I bought it based on the fact that I've handled OTHER steel framed Omegas which had decent triggers.

2) DID I know there was risk?  YES, but from fixing two horrible P07s I thought I'd take a chance.

I will LIKELY keep and Cajunize, but am considering sending BACK to CZ USA for a look - which may be a waste of time.  Maybe its the mainspring with the compact frame - I just cannot get over how heavy these are - like a SIG P6 when new (which has a 30LB mainspring).

I think I have most of the grit out, and maybe most of the stacking - I'll play with it more tonight if my hand can survive.  If you have arthritis, do NOT buy this gun.

So... I may keep and work with it - LOVE the build quality, and KNOW it will be accurate and reliable.  Just also want folks to know that there is RISK in the P01 Omega.

Another issue is that the trigger is pretty narrow, and with a heavy pull it almost hurts.  SIGS normally have thicker triggers which spread out the pressure.

No, I have not fired it yet (boohs/hisses), but know from experience and others that firing will NOT tame this much at all, and I'll waste a case of ammo trying.  The polishing I did last night was worth 2 cases of ammo, and likely better.  Been there.

I see 3 options here:
1/ contact CZ and eventually send this pistol to them
2/ send it to CGW (but who will guarantee it comes back with parameters expected by you)
3/ go to the range and take 500 rounds

CZ is not perfect firearm with no perfect machinery... that's why it costs half of SIG. One P-01 Omega can be perfect out of the box, other will need break period - you never know.
It might happened that your item was manufactured in bad day, and the parts are screwed more than usually  ???
If I were you, I would start shooting first, then played with CZ-USA.

I am new to CZ. This summer I bought a CZ 22 bolt action rimfire and it is the best I have ever owned, and I've owned a few. Good trigger, accurate, etc. So after researching I decided to get the P01 Omega for winter carry. After reading this forum I changed my mind. I know many of you can send them off to get work done and that is all good, nothing wrong with that. I choose to look elsewhere. Thanks for the info and the forum, I will continue to check in. Steve

Everything depends on how comfortable are you with gun works. CZ P-01 is a great firearm for carry. Omega even better for people who don't want to fight with complicated action mechanism.I don't know how many negative opinions about this model have you found here, but this what we call "compromise" - you have great price for not perfect quality.
... this is why I carry P-01 Omega, not Sig P229 Legion SAO...  8)

Good point.  I just want to buy a an all metsl winter carry da sa  and not have to spend another several hundred dollars to make the trigger somewhere near right, and that is before I put some decent sights on it. Perhaps that is not realistic these days. Guess I might just need to save a few more dollars.  I am an older guy who will never carry a firearm without a safety or a decocker. My friends do, my sons do, I don't. Grew up with safety's on everything. Anyway, thanks for the reply.
PS-Local price (TN) is not what I consider low at $599. Should it cost less?

I may fire it before I send it back.  Odd - dry fired it this AM.  At first it felt OK - heavy and stagy, but OK.  The more I dry fire it this AM the worse it gets.

It will likely have to go back - its that bad.

It is a shame they turn out guns with triggers this bad. (and the two SP01s in the local gun shop are really poor).  If you are judicious, you can find a new SIG for $600-700 NIB that will have a VG to  excellent trigger as a comparison.  (In case anyone is considering options).

Looks we have two concurrent threads here  ::)
Since briang2ad's problem seems to be fixed (temporarily), I will follow Bochim's question:

CZ P-01 Omega mostly costs $549.99 + shipping + FFL fees. If you are below $600 total - you are OK.
Regarding spending more money on it... If you are lucky, you don't need to add a penny. OK, perhaps you want better sights, but max you are gonna spend is $110 (TrueGlo). My cost was $35 for Meprolight Front sigh, I blackened rear dots and had perfect sights !
Even you would like to lighten DA trigger pull, parts cost is around $30...
Combining everything together you pay $600 + $110 + $30 = $740... or $600 + $35 + $30 = $665...
With more expensive option it is still much less than fe SIG P229 which I consider competitor for CZ P-01 Omega.
... and you have fun playing with your pistol changing its parts... it's good to perfectly know your tool !  :)

You can get a new P229 for $600 if you look.  Yes regularly they are $800.  If you can nail at $600-650 your "ownership cost" is lower.  The trigger won't be hacked up.  Just saying.  I own both.

Yeah they can be found at that price. BUT! Most of them have the short reach trigger which blows and causes the same trigger sting people complain of with the serrated trigger on the CZ PCR. They DON"T always have the short reset parts in which case the reset blows and is LOOONG and springy so those parts need changing. AND they either have contrast sights or Sig Lite night sights which suck and at minimum need to be replaced with XRAY-3's. So now your $600 P229 is pushing $850-$900 before it's by YOUR standards useable.

My P01 Omega UG/SR had a pretty good trigger stock, just REALLY heavy DA pull. I did minor polishing and changed the hammer spring to CGW and the trigger is awesome now. I put way less into this trigger than I did my P07 and got a better trigger with the P01. Go figure.

Wrong.  Early ones did and while I don’t like the short reach, you can replace it for $35 or get and advanced and nicer version. New ones come with short reset also which is quite nice.  I’ve also seen standard P229s with regular triggers.  On the ECC you also get great G10 grips.  All of those triggers smoke the trigger on the P01 Omega.  No spring swapping polishing, fussing and 100% with the hardest primers.
