PCR for $560?
« on: January 28, 2020, 08:22:49 PM »
a LGS has a used PCR on the shelf :  slide is stamped 19 for 2019 production.  I've resisted the temptation to fondle it, but it looks brand new.

price seems a little high?  4-5 months ago I picked up a used 2019 P-01 at the same store for $460.

thx

Even high for a new one  :o
New PCR (2019) costs close to $540 + FFL cost.

High,  UNLESS it is a model that was sold already upgraded.  I would look closer.

Good point.  I traded away my P-01 (for now) because it still needed some work to meet my expectations (sights, trigger job).  Externally, this PCR looks stock.  But I'll look more closely.

If you want it, buy it.  It's only money.

True!  If, by chance, it's been Cajunized …  then it's a bargain.  Take a snap cap to the LGS and test the trigger pull.
CZ Compact PCR
Sig Sauer P320
Ruger LCP
Others, etc.

PCR's (and P01's) tend to go for a $600-$650 around me, but then again there aren't very many shops that carry CZ's (10's aside - and those are in the typical $ range)

I like to support local businesses... but with $80 - $100 price difference I always go with GunBroker.

I debated originally, about putting in a package from CGW or CZC in my PCR, verses buying one predone.  I generally like having two of the same gun, however, I decided my P01 and my PCR were close enough, since this has yet to kick my preferred gun to the curb.

After I get the backordered manual, and get started, it MIGHT change my mind.  Then I would buy one predone and have a range one, as well as a carry.  Been watching prices, and cheapest I seen is $999.

I looked.  No such luck.  The DA trigger was a little better than the used 2019 P-01 I bought there last year for $460, but not by much.

They offered to come down to $510, but I passed.  A compact CZ is on my list, but not yet.  And when I'm ready I think I'll wait until I can afford to buy the upgrades up front.  In the meantime I'll enjoy shooting and improving my Inox 92sf compact with the better trigger out of the box.  Which will get even better this weekend after I swap out the hammer spring.

The hammer spring is a good thing.  Or look on the Beretta forum for how to do a polish job, or if budget allows (and since you said stainless), buy/install a LTT TJIAB, with the LTT optimized lever (around 1mm reset), in NP3.
Goes from good, to VERY enjoyable and one friend said it sounded like a revolver from across the room. (when I was testing the trigger)

I'm new at the parts/upgrades game.  I've been window shopping extensively for Beretta parts on various sites (Beretta, Midwest Gun Works, Wilson Combat, Brownell).

When you reference an "optimized lever," I don't recognize that term. Safety lever? But that shouldn't affect the reset, so is that the trigger bar?  or the internal drop-in trigger spring?

(sorry for getting us away from the OP subject.... I'll stop here.)

LTT  Langdon tactical tech
TJIAB  Trigger job in a bag
Optimized trigger bar is I think the official term, but I don't always remember that.

Ernest Langdon used to work at Wilson and helped (don't know if alone) develop the Wilson  trigger bar.  He has his own company and has well as several versions of Beretta's out, that he helped bring to market.
