I just got a P-10F Optics Ready and was really excited about shooting it. I have a P-10C White Nitride that has the CIP stampings and barrel, slide, and frame matching serials. The P-10F doesn't have those same markings (Kansas City made?) and the slide rattles badly when the gun is shook. I know you don't want a 1911 Gold Medal slide to frame like fit on a combat pistol, but this extraordinary.
I swapped the slides between the C and the F to check and the F slide still did the rattle on the C frame. After returning the slides to the appropriate frames, I installed my SRO onto the P-10F and it had a very solid lock up onto the optic plate. But when doing some dry fire drills, during target transition, the slide would move enough laterally to see the sight picture shift.
Fast forward, I took it to the range yesterday, I couldn't get it to group at 15 and 25. I checked the ammo in my Shadow 2 and P-10C, nope, not it. I was trying to get the SRO sighted in, but couldn't get the groups to tight enough to tell me where I needed to go. I had to shoot it at 7 to dial it in, but at 25...it was just gross.
I'm incredibly disappointed in the P-10F that I bought, and I'm hoping it is a one off, because I love my Shadow 2 and P-10C.
I want to replace it, thoughts on SP-01 or P-09 for Carry Optics competition and match use?
