New Straight Trigger for DA
« on: February 02, 2020, 11:05:40 AM »
Hey all.

Not sure if you've seen that CZC has come out with a new straight trigger that works with double action.

According to info shared on their Instagram post, it works on all CZ 75 models with the exception of the omega variants. This includes both full size and compacts. Not more info I can find on the net. No reviews or videos.

From the looks of it, the shoe of trigger works much like the set screw of the RRK trigger. Trigger is set back in DA. Not sure if it will require any fitting or if its drop in.

Looks potentially awesome so ordered one last night and will be installing on my SP-01 manual safety that has the Pro Package. I will share video of it in action and anything worth noting during install.

Sells for $39.95

Make sure to confirm with CZC if it will fit your gun before ordering

Thanks for the heads up - I'd like to try a flat trigger on my SP-01. Let us know how the install goes...

Hey Stuart. Thanks for the video. Answers some questions I had.

Did it require any fitting?

Yeah, saw this in the Enos Forum.  Now that I see where the SA break position is (a la tilted back), I'm not really interested.  But it's cool the they make one.

I took the bait and ordered one for my Shadow 2.  I didn’t think I preferred flat triggers until I tried one.

Interesting, they should make it in black. Up to this point i have not found any asset in flat triggers and loosing the DA was a negative. I am interested to hear what folks think about this new trigger once they have some trigger time with them, especially the DA pull.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Got it. Installed it. Dropped right in. I have the Pro Package and the DA and SA timing are perfect. No fitting was needed.

The trigger feels nice. Its solid. Has a slight radius to the face. The shoe takes up all the slack in DA. Much like the RRK but without the set screws.

I've dry fired a bit. Like it so far. Need to put a bit more time behind the trigger to get a solid sense of it.

Just installed the flat trigger in my Shadow 2.  Stuart was kind enough to contact me after I placed my order to ask what disconnector I already had installed.  Turns out if you have the stock disco in it you also need the CZC DA Short Disconnector, which he sent to me.  I got both parts installed and everything works with no fitting required.  DA feels really good, SA took me about 5 mins of dryfire to get used to since the trigger breaks past the 90 deg mark.   I didn’t measure my SA pre-travel or reset, but I think both have been reduced.

Hitting the range tomorrow to do some live fire.  I’m hopeful it all goes smooth since I’m really digging the feel of the flat trigger over the curved.

Hit the range this morning to give the CZC flat trigger a whirl.  Everything ran 100% and after the first few mags I started to get used to the difference in how the flat trigger felt.

I ran a few drills that I commonly shoot whenever I go to the range and didn’t notice any significant gains/losses in time or accuracy.  Which is good, considering this was my first live-fire session with the new trigger.  I didn’t have any expectations that the flat trigger was really going to make a huge difference... but it was a good first outing with more to come for sure.

I will say that I did like the way the trigger felt over the curved one.  It’s a subtle difference but one that I think I’ll come to really appreciate.  All in all, I give this a thumbs up, especially to Stuart and CZC for making sure I had the right disco to go with their flat trigger.

Hello. New owner of my first CZ, a 75 SP-01.  I've had it for 3 weeks and put about 700 rounds through it so far.  May I ask whether the straight trigger on a DA/SA trigger decreases or eliminates the slack in SA mode?

No Sir, it will not. In a CZ 75 variant pistol in DA/SA config the Single Action pre-travel is a product of the inside thickness of the disconectors hook. After market disconectors are available that facilitate reduction of the SA pre-travel.

I bought two straight triggers and two of the CZC 10480 "Short DA Disconnectors".  I installed the first trigger and disconnector in a SP-01 Shadow that was out of the box stock except for a lighter main spring.  The straight trigger and the disconnector changed the trigger so that if felt a lot like a Shadow 2 that I have.

I took the Shadow 2 and the SP-01 Shadow to the range today and shot them side by side. The SP-01 had a better feel to the trigger, for me, than the Shadow 2.  Tonight I'll be installing the second trigger and disconnector in the Shadow 2.

After a bit you don’t even notice its that far back.  I’ve been shooting mine for the last few months and really like it.  My other Shadow with the regular trigger feels weird now.
