Bren 2 with PSA AK Triangle brace and Dan Haga pic adapter
« on: February 10, 2020, 04:22:07 PM »
Hey all, I did a thing. I think it turned out well. The brace locks when folded, and as long as it’s mounted in the middle of the pic rail or lower it doesn’t get on the way of the charging handle. More pics on my ig @mr_5lade

Wow, that turned out great! How does the triangle brace feel? Much play in the rubber?
Cheers,
Dave

I was actually pleasantly surprised on how good it felt. The top bar of the triangle is 100% solid. The back and bottom of the triangle do have flex, but when shouldered the top bar negates any play. I’m very happy with the purchase. Also, it’s super light weight.

Oh, dang! I like that a lot! I tossed the SB Tactical 1913 folder on my Bren and HATED it. the flex in the 1913 folder makes follow-up shots tough and makes the gun seem to flop all over the place during shooting compared to the SOB brace I had on it with the buffer tube adapter.

How is the length of pull with that brace? It seems a little small aesthetically anyway.

Hey there, I took some pics for comparison with the grips lined up. The first is an AR pistol with an SB Tactical brace fully extended and the second is a full sized AR with its stock fully extended.

Here’s another angle of the brace folded

Do you tend to pull the rifle into your shoulder quite hard?

I do and I cannot use that brace at all.  I find that I squish the top plastic strut and then the darned thing folds.

This is a sample size of one so the folding issue could be relegated to the unit that I played with.

Could you tell me the distance from the trigger to the heel of the brace?

That’s odd. I’ve been shooting with it once and didn’t have that issue. I just tried shouldering it a few times just now, pulling it hard and it didn’t fold. Perhaps it’s a bad sample?

Quick question on the brace - Can you reverse the side the triangle brace folds on?
Cheers,
Dave

No, it can’t be flipped
